So I swapped out the whole fuse box and problem solved! Reverse lights are working and trailer brake controller is hooked up and functioning.
I still have to get the license plate lamps to work but I think that is a bulb issue.
Yeah, I read that exact same thread and thats what led me to think I need the entire cicuit board....
I went ahead and purchased one from gmpartsdirect...should be here Friday. Hopefully this fixes the issues!
I will give an update once I swap them out.
Yeah I think this might have something to do with with but unfortunately I dont think its a replacable relay...is this right? I will have to replace the entire underhood circuit board?
Also, could any of this be causing the issues with the license plate lights and the trailer brake wires?
no signal at the trailer hookup. apparently the trailer signals piggy back off the vehicles signals?
Also, just found out that the trailer brake controller wires are not working (I did find the wires under in the engine back and bolted them down on the post) and now the rear licesnse plate...
thread title explains itself but here is the troubleshooting I have done...
- If I send +12V from the light side of the fuse, the lights come on...this proves wiring from fuse box to lights are good and bulbs are ok
- Fuse is fine...self explanatory
- when shifted to reverse, +12V does...
Maybe some noob questions but...
So when you install the long tubes the catalytic converters are deleted? What about O2 sensors?
Where did you find the LLP headers for that price? All I can find is the shorties.
How was the fitment around the trans? any pics?
TIA
Thanks for advice Felix. I probably will need to remove them in order get them to work again. I just hope that I can get them to work again when I put it in reverse.
Maybe replace with a brighter than stock bulb LED?
anyone have an idea why my lights are acting this way?
Kevin,
did you ever get this fixed? I am having a similiar issue after replacing my stock bulbs to HIDs. The switch I wired in turns them on but putting it in reverse will not. I checked the switched power at the fuse box that should be 12v when in reverse but it isnt there. I send 12v down...
I dont have any pics right now and I am currently out of the country for a few months for work. I know the plastic webbed piece you are talking about and it was replaced with the L bracket that I was explaining before.

i have done this before as i have placed a rear door handle on the front so the lock cannot be punched out by thieves!!! (dont ask why I know)
Call a locksmith...thats all you can do...it is cheaper than replacing a window.
i believe this is what you are talking about/looking for.
This is what I did for a quick fix. The zip tie was in place for about a week and then i made up a small L bracket with a few holes drilled through it. A couple of bolts, lock washers, and nuts...job done.
