Reminds me of an engine build ( about 20 yrs ago).... A great friend who is famous for building / tuning motorcycle engines ( Southern California)..... He did little stuff for Kawasaki & Yamaha - R&D shops...
One day he got a call from Kawasaki. They were building a V-8 for a larger size quad runner.
They fabricated a V-8 block to mount 2, 1,100 cc heads. But after , the engine on a dyno would over- heat. They called my friend ( Curt) to get the project and troubleshoot at his shop. He found ( and corrected) the valve timing. He returned the little V-8 back to Kawasaki.....
They called Curt back and said, " This engine is useless...... IT HAS 300 HP on the dyno !! We have nothing for that !!
We wanted to take it and mount it into an older Formula Atlantic race car. ( They wouldn't let us )
(( If any of you have a motorcycle, and are fortunate to have a Clymer Service Manual, that is my friend who does the books at his shop)
