If they were all flex fuel I would think these sites would say that. Nothing I have found says they're all flex fuel since 2015, and even the owner's manual doesn't state it's flex fuel. It says it will have a yellow sticker on the fuel door (mine does not). Posting a press release of a flex fuel motor doesn't "settle it" in my opinion. It just means that specific Tahoe listed was flex fuel.

I clicked on the link posted and clicked the input my VIN, it just wanted to sell me tahoes.

There's only two V8 engines, a 5.3 Liter L83 or the 6.2 Liter L86. Go google "L83 engine" and see for yourselves that the former is E85 capable.

The information in this link for the L86 is wrong, as we know the L86 is not a Flex Fuel engine. They are frequently wrong about specs, or confused. For example, the LC9s compression ratio is 9.95:1 but you'll more often than not see it listed as 9.5:1 or 9:1. In 2009 the engine was tuned differently depending on the application but the variations and at which rpm will drive a person mad trying to figure it out as the official sources are all conflicting.

So to the OP, what engine is in your Tahoe? Look up your RPO codes.

So all 2015+ 5.3s are flex fuel, correct?

I have a 2015 Tahoe LT with the 5.3 which is the L83 unless I am mistaken.

I guess I can try putting E85 in and see what happens

NOTHING. black gas cap, no emblem on tailgate

Same here. Nothing on gas cap and no emblem on my 2017. And from owner's manual "Vehicles marked as “E85” or FlexFuel can use either unleaded gasoline or ethanol fuel containing up to 85% ethanol (E85). All other vehicles should use only the unleaded gasoline as described in Fuel".

And the 5.3L v8 ecotec3 engine specs (http://gmauthority.com/blog/gm/gm-engines/l83/) do mention "regular unleaded or E85".

Very confusing.
