Which safe/stronger? Longer studs or hub adapters?

I’d like to throw on some 12mm or 15mm wheel spacers, and was going to install some appropriately longer studs to retain the same amount of threading on the lug nuts…

Is this safer/stronger than hub adapters?

I just don’t want my wheels popping out too far, given that hub adapters come in much thicker spacer sizes.

the adapter is known to be stronger than longer studs.
there is some science available out there somewhere explaining why...

I run 1in spacers on my vette, I have tracked it a few times and never had an issue.
However, if the bolts become lose you better have your seat belt on!

That said, I don't let tire shops touch them!
It would be much harder if it was my truck... :)
