Ok guys so im basically turning my rig into a rescue hoe, and well every rescue is gunna need a winch. So i came across a WARN Trans4mer grille guard for a hell of a good price. Now if anyone has any experience with one of these grille guards, can you tell me if it already comes with a place for the winch to sit on?? I don't want it to wrap around my headlights, just the simple grille guard with the space for the winch. I've tried looking for vids on youtube, any info on
4wheel parts and WARN, but no answers.

Justin after i saw your new bumper with the winch mount, i knew the tahoe would look sweet with one. Not too many people have winches on their hoe from what i've seen on the forum. Now the only thing is that the WARN winch carrier is made for a WARN winch, those winches are TOO dam EXPENSIVE!! I found a 3000lb smittybuilt winch for $99.99 and i'd want to throw it on but idk if the mounting brackets would fit. AHHH the dilema of upgrading your rig.......

You sure that 3000 is gonna be enough for the hoe? Atv winches are usually 2000.

But I hear ya, I've got my eye out for a good used one. Preferably a 12000 or 16000 pound winch. No way I'm gonna drop 2grand on a new one with the limited use it will see.

I have a Warn Trans4mer on my denali, i bought it used and it came with the winch carrier, the one your looking at might have it on there as well, if it doesnt you can by one for a 100 bucks from Warn or you could make or have one made probably for less.
Dont get a 3k winch for your tahoe, that wouldnt pull out anything but an atv, general rule of thumb is to have a winch 1.5x times the weight of your vehicle or something close to that.
I have a Pro Mark 10k winch and love it, its made with Warn components and it new was only like $389. I use it pretty frequently as well, mostly for work more than anything.

nice find on the promark winch! added the 12K to the top of the list for the new bumper. $500 is an amazing deal compared to $1500. did you get yours direct from Promark or order it elsewhere?

You can get a warn XD9000 9000lb for $947 at amazon or a m8000 for $560. It would be a great solution for your plans. Don't skimp on a winch or something bad is going to happen.

* Rated Line Pull: = 8000 lbs.
* Motor: = 12V

* Gear Ratio: = 216.1
* Size: = 21.04 in. x 6.3 in. x 7.6 in.
* Weight: = 80 lbs.
* Wire Rope = 100 ft. of 5/16
* Fairlead = Roller

Compact. Tough. An outstanding value for trucks, sport Utility Winches vehicles and Jeeps. The M8000, with its 4.8-hp Series Wound motor and 3-stage planetary geartrain, packs 8,000 lbs. of pulling power to get the job done. Available with either 80' of wire rope and hawse fairlead or 100' of wire rope and roller fairlead. Pulls a fast 8 ft. per minute at rated load.
