They are all Vin locked and it you have a truck Younger that 12 you need the adapter harness. Cps audio can program for you.

Question, since you sound knowledgable on this particular subject. Who is cps audio? What does programming do? What does vin locked mean? And so going from an 07 to 07 would an adapter be needed?

The radios are programmed to the vehicle's VIN number; Chevy's theft deterrent. If you plug in a "locked" head unit into a different vehicle, it will not function. You have to use a Tech2 to clear the VIN from the headunit to work in the new vehicle.

Cps audio will program the radio to work with the amp you have whether it be the 10 speaker or lux bose ect. The will also program the splash screen to start up with either gmc Chevy denali ect. Then they program your vin into radio. If your trying to use this in a vehicle younger than 12 you need an adapter harness. They sell those also. There are lots of threads on it. BLKonBLK was the pioneer of this upgrade years ago on this forum. Many did it.
