Z71 here and as I was cleaning the cicada guts off my grill, I noticed a chip in the applied smokey chrome finish on the grill. Its flaking now and most likely will continue. Can this "finish" be reapplied or touched up to stop this from continuing? I'm sure it's not covered under warranty.

With the right attitude you may get it replaced. Looks like an inferior finish to me.

I will try that tact first. I'm at 18K miles and need to get this in for a bunch of nuisance warranty issues and recall. I'll have them look the trim over. I can't believe how fragile it seems

I had an issue once upon a time which they poo pooed. Went to the show room floor with customers doing paper work and raised my voice loud enough for everyone to hear, "When I bought this you said you would take care of any issues I had now you won't". They fixed it.

Trouble today is there isn't anyone on the showroom floors.

I got a no on fixing this from the dealer over a year ago. Now I'm coming up on 60K miles and as you can imagine, it's gotten worse. What options do I have? Vinyl wrap? Paint? Can you get some sort of touch up for this film?
