Rear entertainment screen scratched

Hey all, I’m a new owner of a 21’ Yukon XL. One of the rear entertainment screens is scratched. The screen appears to have a protection layer where the scratch is on the surface. Is this layer from the factory? And can it be removed and replaced? It looks like an add on, but it is well bonded and does not lift if you try to peel up from the edges.

if it is you might try to take it off with a razor blade

For a quick fix, try putting a thin layer of Vaseline on the scratches and wipe off the excess. The scratches should disappear.

Thx, I’ll try some vaseline & hold on a razor blade until I can confirm if they are aftermarket and removable. I already chipped the edge picking at it as you can see in the pic. If it’s factory coating I don’t want to screw it up more.

Update. It’s been sold


I’ve got a driver side screen for sale cheap. Just removed both from my ‘21 Escalade when passenger side cracked.
