I recently had a situation where upon activating the lift gate, it would lift approximately 30%, and then it would lower and re-lock into the closed position. My Tech 2 showed, "Hall sensor feed status with no output when closed, and short to ground when open command initiated." I did an extended search on this message, and I found one post that said this issue may be related to the gas support struts needing replacement.
I troubleshot deeper with the Tech 2 to check out the lift gate operation, and I got, "B1019 System Configuration Error".
I replaced both lift gate support struts, and the lift gate went back to its normal operation. I also replaced the support struts for the rear window at the same time, just because.
