I figured since the weather sucks in pa I'd buy a spare filter RF-1042 while on vacation to swap out. Out of 20 stores that carry K&N locally no one carries these, yet they all had a variety of other K&N cone filters. Always the same answer, its a special order, while K&N told me 7 - 10 days. I'm ready to say fuckem, any recommendations on a better brand CAI. Otherwise Im going back to OEM, and throw this piece a shit in the Allegheny River

why would you need a spare filter? These K&Ns dont have any issues as far as I'm concerned..I go splashing through flooded roads, racing across the Bonneville Salt Flats, mudding, through the desert, city...everything...wash it off and its as good as new again

Just wash it off in some hot water outside and then take it inside and put it over a heat register from your furnace or next to the fireplace, should dry in no time!

a spare is so much simpler, if I'm going under the hood outside, Im doing it once, hell its usually dark before 5 here in PA right now. Maybe Ill just go to Manny Moe & Jack's and buy a kit and build it myself with a spare filter. When I want something I dont want to wait, thats probably why I havent gotten my rig lowered or the magnaflow system yet These ***** out here are clueless, and narrow minded and instead of doing what I want they price me out the door with a 2 week waiting time. They must use there job as a hobby cause they don't seem to be to anxious to make money.

^ two week wait time for what install a muffle system? If you already bought the mufler you want, then just take it midas or meinake (wrong spelling) IMO no special shop is needed to instal a regular muffler, maybe I'm wrong here but hey Midas installed mine, and they've been doing mufflers for a long time. But I feel you, when I want something I don't want to hear 2 weeks wait time either.

Went to both places, the actually bend there own pipes, but they said it would be a few days to get the muffler but they couldnt fit me in for a week or so. I want to run duals off the muffler. They said if I do I cant use the spare tire and it would be $750+ tax, (this wasn't a cat back sys eother)
