2014 Tahoe LT 176k miles.

Every few dollars the pump will click sometimes. Seems to be worse in cold weather. Always has done it since I got it. Sometimes it does it. Sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes I also smell gas when I first start it up in cold weather mostly. Than goes away pretty quick. Smells like fresh fumes vs burned off

it's not hard to do, I would drop the spare to get more clearance, disconnect the fill tube and pull it down to easily attach the filter (zip tie it to the filler tube) then stick the filler tube back up and re-attach to body.
the connectors are push forward, squeeze and pull
should take you 30-40 minutes tops
very highly recommend OEM, don't go aftermarket they are well known to go out in short order
wear some glasses, tends to be dirt and crap under there that will of course fall right in your face

The evap canister should be above your rear axle under the vehicle near your exhaust and fuel cell. Here's a video on how to replace it with part numbers:

I suppose you don't absolutely HAVE to, but it's easier when you have room to work. If your driveway is inclined you could just back in and chock the wheels.
Ok. So is the fuel filter the charcoal canister or different parts? I only wanna change the one that’s potentially causing the pump to kick off

Yes completely different parts with different jobs. The common "clicking" at the pump issue is usually the black charcoal canister that gets clogged over time as the pellets absorb moisture and deteriorate. Fuel filter issues will affect your engine running, which I am assuming you're not experiencing?

it's $200 in parts, you could try just the canister or just the vent valve but it's a gamble
in my opinion the shot gun approach is a one and done.

Don’t think so…. Seems to run like a top. Only issue I have is sometimes on that first pull when I take off in the morning… power delivery feels a bit uneven but other than that it runs fine. Could just be me too… I think it’s fine tho. No CELs.
