Changed front rotors and pads, limp mode on restart. Disconnected negative battery terminal fir 15 minutes. Went to local auto parts and discovered this code. Employee couldn’t press the erase button, but I did and still have CIL. Otherwise everything is fine. I have the pad wear sensors disabled, but enabling or disabling yield same results.

How did you spread the pads apart to put the new pads and rotor in? Was the caliper bleed screw open when spreading the pads apart?

Did you bleed the system and pump the new pads back out against the rotor?

I pushed the pistons back into the calipers the way I always do with a c clamp. No fluid bled or lost. Then gently pump the pedal to prep before bedding the new pads.

^^^^^x2^^^^^ C-clamp, centered on the pad covering the piston(s), a quarter turn at a time, then rest for 5 seconds for pressures to equalize, and go another quarter turn. Keep going, until you feel the slight resistance of the piston(s) bottoming out. Centered, slow, and careful.

Drove it like I stole it all weekend. Today on the way to the dealer to see by chance if my front strut was covered by warranty, I noticed the CIL gone gone.
That’s great, but now I’m looking at a strut job since the warranty idea was a bust.

Depending on year the strut job isn’t nasty at all. Remove wheel and support on jackstands loosed bottom two mounting bolts then the uppers. Removed it by tipping and pulling it out through back side. If I remember correctly I used a pry bar and trolley jack to push bottom on new struts (2) into place. Not as strong as I used to be so as my son always says, work smarter Dad not harder.
