so i got a set of old H1 rims and tires from a military surplus store for my winter rims, i guess the tires are military issue 12 ply with a special run flat goo on the inside they measure 31x12xR15 the rims are 15 inch steel that were ugly red when i got them. and are now painted black.

what else is happening is i have my bambie basher that will go back on and its welded together for strength, and i also have some 16GA steel skid plates to cover vital under chassis parts (front diff, TC, oil pan, tranny)

oh and im not lifting it back up this year lol we will see how well that goes.

what does everyone else do before winter with there trucks?

Check my tires for rot and cracks. Then put it in the garage before a snow storm haha.

i live in Minnesota lol so we get snow... lots of snow. and ice, so if i cover they parts that hang low, i have less possibility of damaging them, as for the rims, well salt pits chrome.

what the hell is winter? hahahaha, i'm usually in shorts on christmas day...we had a light snow christmas 04, and before that we had some..not enough to even cover the grass and that was around '89 or something. don't get me wrong, i've lived in the snow too, i love it, but hate it...it's only good for skiing on, in the city...it was just all dumped in the walmart parking lot.

i have all 4. the tires are 31x12xR15 and the rims are 15x10 6 lug (i guess there off an old hummer) and the tires are new military issue. for 200 bucks for 4 tires and 4 rims. im not complaining. but each tire/rim combo is 85+ pounds :(

Yay winter!!! Oh wait... Does my thermostat say 95? Until December or January in South Florida its so damn hot you can't even work on your truck/car it sucks. So when it actually does cool off and dry up thats when you gotta jump on this shit!

If i had some custom rims, I would swap them out but other than rubber floor mats and rotating the tires, not much else for us. I did want to get all of the lights/fluids upgraded though but winters/old drivers SUCK out here as well.

need to buy two more rims and 35" tires to atleast halfway match the two in the garage and throw them on the hoe. make sure the antifreeze is up to par and fill it up. winter ready.

may just leave the brand new rims on there and reswap them out again after it stops snowing... haha. 3 year finish warranty!
