So we just got our 2004 GMC Yukon XL Denali and my starter went out and after my husband replaced(he made sure to have the key in while reconnecting the battery) it the alarm is randomly going off and when we're driving the "passenger door is ajar" alert goes off. Is there anyone who has dealt with this and what can be done to make it stop? Thanks in advance.

I would get the battery fully charged up before taking any other actions. Put it on a charger or take it out for a long drive. A bad cell in a good battery can also cause all kinds of havoc as you describe too. Check the positive and negative cables and grounds for corrosion.

Thank you. My battery is fine, no corrosion, it's a brand new battery and the voltage and all that doesn't indicate a problem.

if the passenger door ajar alert is coming up random then that is likely also the cause for the alarm to be getting triggered, if there is a problem with the door lock electronics and say for instance it causes the alarm to think someone has opened the door while armed it would trigger the alarm.
that's really the only reason the factory alarm goes off on these trucks is if a door is opened, if you break a window and crawl in and out the alarm will never go off.

A scan will show the history of what set of the “content theft alarm”. I bought a 150$ scanner and within a few minutes determined the issue(hood latch). This is an old post but maybe it can help someone else.
