any tips or tricks for this? ways to take the badges off? do i need to sand them or just paint over? thanks!

You can do it 2 ways:
1. Easier way: get "plasti-dip" paint them right on to the car, before it drys peel anything off the paint of the car and its that simple or the better and more time consuming way
2. get a heat gun (hair dryer) and heat up the adhesive behind the emblems. when you think its warm enough grab fishing wire (heavier the test the better) WEAR GLOVES! and slide in the back of the emblems and wiggle it back and foruth to have the emblems slide off. then sand them down with medium grit sand paper. paint them to desired color . recommned flat black

i taped mine up scuffed up with scotch pad.cut them out and then painted.pain in the ass but it worked well.

id rather do the heat gun thing... will a blow dryer work? lol. also, how should i put them back on?

I would say something like exactly how they were on before...
but seriously you might just want to put some tape along the bottom before you take them off and then you will have a reference when you put them back

i think i might just go for the debadging... might look nicer... havent decided yet though...

when i did mine, i used a hair dryer to remove the emblems. I didnt have to use any reference tape as when i took them off the lettering still could be seen on the paint. I scuffed painted a reinstalled them using new 3m tape. I put them exactly how they came off

3M automotive double sided tape. i got mine at autozone for like 7 bucks

i decided it looked cooler just to debadge. the tahoe logo is kinda dated. i thought of getting a badge from a newer tahoe and painting it black, but ill see... i was thinking about keeping the "CHEVROLET" badge to paint black, but all the "TAHOE" emblems im going to remove. i took the one off the back, but it started getting windy and cooler, so im gonna remove the ones off the sides tomorrow if the weather permits. i normally HATE the heat and sun, but im hoping its hot tomorrow to help the glue get soft lol! it was a pain in the a** to get the clear adhesive off... the black thick stuff wasnt bad... i used goo gone and a razor to get that off (i was careful not to scratch the car), and then i used NuFinish afterwards. theres still a faint outline of where the badge was though
