Hey guys, the rear blend door for the heat/cold in the rear quit working a while ago. I found a wrecked 04 suburban with rear climate control and an identical part number for the actuator, but when I plugged it in, it didnt work.

I just watched a video where the guy explained you have to program the computer so that it knows its a new actuator. so I guess the one I tried was possibly good?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=embUVHD3O4o

anyway, I have dual hvac in the front and it doesnt like to go cold from hot, or vide versa. It appears both front blend doors may be on the fritz, as sometimes they work, sometimes they dont. I took the cover off the HVAC at the passenger side footing and found only one actuator, where are the rest at?

Also, how can I go about getting the actual part numbers I need for replacements? when I look these up online there are dozens of them that look similar, but I have no idea if they are the right one. Very confusing!

Thanks

you can try pulling the HVAC fuse under the hood for a minimum of 10 seconds, and plug it back in then try it. If that doesn't work, you can pull the fuse, put it back in, then turn the key from off to the run position three or four times, then turn the key to run for about 3-4 min, then back to off for 30 seconds. Then start it and see if it works.

I always have to do that trick to make my air blow through the vents after the battery has been unplugged for 20 min or more.. otherwise it only blows out the defrost and my AC doesn't work.

Sky is right the system needs to be reset after being unplugged for a long period of time. Im not guaranteeing it will work but its worth trying??

I was looking into it more and the actuator is located underneath the dash. If you open that the bottom air vent right to the right of the radio and if you pull it down and that will be exposed and you can adjust the actuator or buy a new one if the original is not working correctly xhange it my brother,

04 Yukon rear A/C geiger counter ticking sound

I have a ticking sound coming from the right rear interior panel. I was told this is where the A/C controls and actuator motors are housed. Has anyone else heard this ticking sound and how do I test the actuator motors? The sound is intermittent and hate to pull the cover and head liner down and hear nothing.
What are some tell tale signs of a defective motor?
Thanks
