    I have a Kenwood unit in my 2005 red Mustang GT convertible (it is not for sale). It works very well. I really don't do anything with it other than Apple CarPlay. Apple CarPlay takes care of all the needs you mentioned. It also has Satellite Radio that I occasionally use as well.

    Auto dimming

    For auto dimming to work, the light selector must be in "Auto", I never use that. I always control my lights manually because I don't want my daytime running lights to be on during the day. When you put the headlight switch too "on" you have full manual control of the high-beams.

    Don't use Google. Use Apple CarPlay. You'll have your choices of 3 navigation systems. When I'm in a hurry, I often use Waze. It's very aggressive at finding shortcuts that work. You can have the volume anywhere you want it.

    I had all things google removed from my Tahoe at a local auto electronics shop. Very glad I did that. I use Apple CarPlay for everything. It's vastly superior, and it doesn't spy on you, it does not make a permanent record of everything you say, and everywhere you go.
