    L83 5.3 with 7500rpm build - Suggestions?

It all comes down to if you want to make the truck as quick as possible, or hit an rpm just for the sake of an rpm target. I have spun stock bottom ends to 7500 and never had a failure for years, but that is in camaros and corvettes that are light enough to pull their own weight, with the cam...

    2012 tahoe no start

Check the main ground wires going from the battery to the frame/engine. You can also take a set of jumper cables and hook both the positive and negative to the negative terminal on the battery, then run one on the other end to the frame, and the other to the engine for a quick ground test.

    Intermittent starter - no crank

Check the main ground from the battery to the front passenger cylinder head as well. That one causes no start clicks if it is faulty.

Lscalade: they don't change much, they are horrible tunes.

    6.2 High RPM Misfire

Increasing the air flow on the inlet side of a positive displacement supercharger substantially, always requires a re tune or it will run lean. Since the misfire is coming after doing the air intake mods, its almost for sure running lean at high rpms and knocking. You need to throw a wideband...

    [SOLVED] 6.2L stutters/jerks while accelerating

BTW, your transmission relies on the proper air flow reading to know what line pressure to run. If the truck is not seeing enough air flow (which it isnt based on the code,) you are going to smoke your tranny very soon.

    [SOLVED] 6.2L stutters/jerks while accelerating

For the DOD codes, the shop that installed the cam probably did the work, then started it before putting a tune in it to turn the dod system off. I would go back to them and have them pay for gm to re flash the ecu back to stock or have them flash it back to stock if they have the tools, then...

    GMT900 Engine removal options

You will love it next time. Your socket and ratchet for turning over the engine hangs right beside your impact, so you can reach off your gun and fine tune the nut position while the gun hangs off all the extensions. Zip a bolt out, then your gun and extensions hang in place while you turn over...

    GMT900 Engine removal options

I guess it all comes down to how you do each thing. I just impact the two starter bolts off, pull the starter down, then unhook the two wire nuts. I then put a few extensions together and get the torque converter bolts with my impact sitting between the radiator and front cross member, just make...

    GMT900 Engine removal options

I guess I am in the minority here, I have never unbolted the inner fender to change a starter. Oh well, carry on and consider me out voted here, I think taking the wheels off and inner fenders out is more work then unbolting the starter and ac pump with them in. It truly is what works best for each.

    GMT900 Engine removal options

Maybe I can make your life easier next time! The engine mount bolts can all be buzzed out with an impact and extensions from up top. I will give you the ac pump though, but its not too bad.

    GMT900 Engine removal options

They come out easy with the rad support and radiator in place. As for the top tranny bolts, just pull the intake manifold and remove the top tranny bolts from the top. Pull the fans, front accessories besides balancer, unhook wiring, engine mounts, then pull the engine forward and up. Then I...

    Is it possible?

Just need a return style fuel system, then your stock computer has a switch in it that can be set to return style fuel pump instead of variable voltage return less. Set that switch to constant voltage return style, and you are good to go.

Well I think a lifter left the chat

All good, the record I have personally made with a D1 was 815 wheel with a c6 corvette standard trans with a 418 stroker and trickflow heads/102mm intake set up. That was slightly over spinning the rated max rpm and shifting at 7500 rpm. That was a 10 percent overdrive bottom with a 2.8 inch...

Well I think a lifter left the chat

I zoomed in to see which head unit it is before commenting and its a D1sc. Even if it has a 20 percent overdrive lower, that is one massive charger pulley to be making 800 hp! All of the D1 cars i have ever built, take way more boost than that is pullied for to make 800 hp. What is that pulley...

    maxtrac 2/4 drop

A buddy did the dodge version of that companies drop kit on his 2018 ram, and it rides like a ***** in the back now. Maybe they don't know how to make a good riding spring? He is changing his drop spring out for the belltech version asap.

    Local tuning shops

Doesn't sound like a tuner that doesn't know what he is doing, sounds like the guy wrenching didn't know what he was doing. Can't tune something properly that is mechanically flawed. Your best bet is to find someone who both tunes and works on these trucks, that way they can diagnose the...

You're not making 800 hp with that wagon wheel of a supercharger pulley. Lol

    Few things I wonder about.

A restricted pcv system on these engines for sure can cause oil leaks. If it is enough to cause the engine to blow blue smoke (it is,) it is enough to cause oil leaks. It only gets worse with higher mileage as the piston rings allow more compression past the rings and into the crank case. For...

    Desperate help/ only vehicle

Obviously just adjusting the entire misfire detection would work, but then you don't have a properly functioning misfire system. I would never run a dod cam with non dod lifters, but if I was forced to do so, I would still try to keep as much of the misfire detection functionality as possible...

    Desperate help/ only vehicle

Yeah they still have that. Is it knock frequency calibration vs cylinder, or a blanket sensitivity vs rpms and grams per cylinder load? I can see changing the frequency calibration for the dod cylinders only to compensate for the misfire, but it is still ultimately misfiring because of a...

Or maybe change the knock thresholds for the dod cylinders. For sure not ideal in any way.
