    Holley Sniper over-revving

Thanks for the reply - I think the problem is solved - I got a suggestion from one of the techs at HOTRODZ (they install several Snipers on street rods) to check the idle air control valve at the back of the throttle body. Removed it and sprayed with Brake-kleen and blew it out - there was...

    Dome/Courtesy Lights

Yes, fuse block is on the interior firewall by the parking brake - I didn't think about the cigarette lighter so that's something else to check tomorrow - thanks for all the help.

    Dome/Courtesy Lights

That's pretty close so I can check it out tomorrow - thanks.

    Dome/Courtesy Lights

Which switches are you referring to that provide the ground - headlight, door jamb, tailgate . . .? I thought the various lights were linked with a common ground wire run to the various switches. When the door was opened, the jamb switch closed the ground and the lights came on - correct?

    Dome/Courtesy Lights

Thanks, I'm not sure these apply as my 94 Yukon 2 dr. doesn't have an o/h console but I'll go through the other Adobe files you provided - it seems like I need the wiring diagram for the O/H lights and a cutaway view of the wiring location in the roof, possibly from a shop manual?

    Dome/Courtesy Lights

Thanks, I'll try that when I get back to the shop.

    Dome/Courtesy Lights

Tried both and also opened tailgate . Have checked bulbs also and have 12V but no ground - aren't all the courtesy lights on common ground? I'm trying to find the wire for the dome lights without tearing the headliner out.

    Holley Sniper over-revving

Installed a Blueprint 365 engine with a Holly Sniper EFI approx. 10K miles ago so it should be out of the "learning" mode. About a month ago it started revving infrequently instead of returning to normal idle - normal idle being 750-850 rpm. Come to a stop sign and it could be over-revving to...

    Water in Passenger floorboard

I posted the earlier problem with my '94 Yukon and went through all the suggestions. What I eventually did was remove the cowling sections between the windshield and hood - cleaned the area well with alcohol - masked off the windshield, hood, fenders and any area that might end up with aerosol...

    Dome/Courtesy Lights

The dome lights in my '94 Yukon worked at one time but quit some time ago - I think they are linked by a common ground wire but I can't find where the wire runs to see if there is a break. The under dash courtesy lights work fine. Any help would be appreciated.

New life in the '94 Yukon

Okay, it's been sufficiently long enough since we replaced the small rubber hose connecting the fuel pump to the pickup and all things are still go - swapped out the break-in oil (500 mi.) and have about 200 more with no issues. EFI computer seems to be "learning" as it is supposed to - there...

Dome not working but courtesy lights are!

Madgav, I am experiencing the same problem on my 1994 Yukon 2dr 4x4 and came across your request on the TY forum - did you ever find the problem (or a solution)? If so, would you please share - thanks in advance.

New life in the '94 Yukon

Apparently it was the commercial name given to the aftermarket EFI manufactured by Holley.

New life in the '94 Yukon

Well, time to eat a little crow - we dropped the tank to swap the 60 psi electric fuel pump for a 12 psi pump for the 4 BBL and found the little 4" long piece of tubing from the pump over to the pickup point had ruptured. It was supplied with the Holley pump for the ****** system and should...

New life in the '94 Yukon

Okay, here's an update - The Holley Sniper is being replaced by an Edelbrock 1406 4BBL! I ended up being stranded twice and the second time was made worse by no-shows from AAA. I didn't do enough research on the Sniper before buying - it seems they have the ECU on the front of the unit and...

New life in the '94 Yukon

Well, it's finally finished - replaced the original drivetrain (5.3 Tbi and tranny) with a new crate motor from Blue Print Engines and a 700 R4 tranny from Phoenix Transmissions. It's rated at 365 HP but dyno-ed at 376 and is equipped with a Holley Sniper EFI. I've got about 300 break-in miles...

    1994 Yukon Door detent lever

I hope not - I've replaced the hinge pins and the detent pin (w/roller) so it should be good (he said optimistically). I had put a new spring in as well but I changed back to the old pin to stop the popping - maybe it'll hold for a while.

    1994 Yukon Door detent lever

Oddly enough the door has finally started closing easily as it should without any popping - I had lubed it pretty good and I guess it finally got to the right place, or the pin found out it was going to be replaced . . . I now have some time to do the necessary searching. I'll see what the...

    1994 Yukon Door detent lever

I hadn't thought of just cutting the pin out with my small Sawzall - I figured they would frown on that since it is peened in place and would damage the door hinge operation if someone wanted a complete door. Might look into that. Thanks.

    1994 Yukon Door detent lever

I agree but I don't need the door, just that small notched lever arm that keeps the door open. I'll keep looking until something turns up. Thanks for the responses.

    1994 Yukon Door detent lever

Thanks James, that's what I was afraid of but I just replaced both hinge pins and the detent pin in the driver door. I'm guessing the old pin was so bent that it wore the lever arm and now when I close the door, the new roller pin "pops" when it comes out of the indented notch. I think I...

    1994 Yukon Door detent lever

Anyone have a name for the spring-loaded notched arm that holds the driver door open - I'm trying to find a replacement and can't find one - if one exists. Thanks.

    Engine/tranny swap

Thanks for the responses - the Blueprint engine comes as a "turnkey" project, complete with distributor, plugs, wires, Holley Sniper (w/computer), etc., so all that's needed is a water pump and swapping over the PS pump, alternator, A/C compressor and the serpentine idler system. I need to...

    Engine/tranny swap

Jeremy, It's a '94 Yukon and I think I've had the PCM out before to replace blower motor, but I get confused sometimes between PCM and TCM. J - it's a sbc with vortec heads, roller cam and the Holley Sniper EFI - the Sniper comes with it's own computer to program the FI initially and than it...

    Engine/tranny swap

Sorry to say my really good running 5.7L Tbi and 4L60-E needs more help than is available to make it a performance engine capable of towing a trailer with a car loaded. So I'm in the process of getting a Blueprint 365 Hp engine with Holley Sniper EFI and a beefy 700R4 to handle the 4X4...
