The bushing on the shifter cable decided to take a dump today. Ground was scorching hot but I was able to limp it home using a small bungee cord I was able to buy at a U-Haul down the street
Due to the offset on the Tundra wheels I added a 1.5” hub centric in the rear to bring them out closer to the fenders. I saw one the heater core tees seep coolant. When I went to tighten the clamp, it broke off . Took the opportunity to get the all metal Dorman tees for both.
Interior seats are in rough shape. Ordered replacement lower covers but got the wrong ones. No cracks in dash and no fading paint.(No smalll feat due to the AZ sun) Will need a good interior scrub but , PO had small children. Full set of Weather tech mats were included. Michelin Defender Tires...
Picked up a 2010 GMC Denali over the weekend for 5k. Not the cheapest but body in good shape and good service history. First short wheel base version after owning nothing but LWB in the NBS/NNBS platforms. It does need a few things. Ordered replacement lower front seat covers and replacement...
Completed an oil change and replaced the gasket on the oil cooler block off plate. Noticed a slight tick from the engine. This being a 08 6.2 I don’t believe it has the AFM lifters. I’ll have to take to valve covers off to see if it’s a sticky/collapsed lifter. If so might as well do both sides...
Back to the forum with a 08 Denali. Replaced the worn interior door handle, rear door lock actuator(too weak to unlock) and front passenger seat track. Previous owner had added front Escalade seats from 2010+. These were tripping the air bag light. Ended up just swapping the covers/foam on to...
Suburban decided to puke its guts out on the freeway. Limped it home. I’m in the middle of replacing coolant, radiator, quick connect on the heater core. Got the radiator from vatozone I did verify radiator comes with the restriction on the right tank. Have great heat up front not so much in the...
I did not, I could not find any instructions that mentioned anything about the rear. I figured opening it up and resetting it to the middle setting like new actuator would do the trick.
After the battery died front/rear actuators we’re all out of wack. Tried the calibration trick and it fixed all front actuators along with one of the rear actuators. The temperature one was stubborn and would not reset. Ended up uninstalling it , opened it up and reset to the middle position. I...
Battery died about 50 miles from home. Luckily a Costco was a few miles down the road. I usually carry at least a 8/10 mm wrench/socket/ratchet for emergencies . I was able to loosen up the 14 mm bolt for the battery tie down with some pliers.
Looks like the module the PO has for the head unit does not integrate the audio controls. For the DIC buttons DIC personalization is set to off. I assume that’s why those buttons don’t work. I may need to pull the trigger on a clone Tech 2 at this point.
Started removing the side moldings, I...
Replaced the front seat cover. Seat pan edges is sharp AF. Color is way off though but I guess it’s to be expected since they are 16 year old seats and thousands of farts later. That may contribute to the color change
Finished up the steering wheel swap. Took longer than expected since I had to swap the buttons from the old steering wheel. Weird thing is none of the controls work. They didn’t work before either.
Picked it up for $3500
2005 LT 202k
Picked the 05+ specifically for the Efans
Came with Apple CarPlay head unit
Sold the 17”s and added some 18”s off of 19 Ram
Picked up a Suburban. Ended doing the rear brakes and valve cover gaskets. Installing a Esky steering wheel later this afternoon. Needs a good interior/exterior cleaning.
Tackled the oil pan. Not too bad of a job even with no lift. Seeing stress cracks(?) on the inside of the oil pan, wonder if I should just buy a new one.
