Vibration (like buffeting) 68-73MPH new tires, 3 different shops checked

I have not done an alignment, I asked original tire install shop and then GMC dealer to check the alignment but was told that alignment cannot be causing harmonics issue, I personally was thinking alignment is a good idea to check. Alignment was done 6K miles back with old tires.

Vibration (like buffeting) 68-73MPH new tires, 3 different shops checked

all shops keep telling me they balanced tires to <7 lbs of Road Force. I do get that it could be rims and maybe even tires, at this point, looks like no matter what I will be paying. Just do not want to pay in vain, already over $600 into all costs on top of tire costs.

Vibration (like buffeting) 68-73MPH new tires, 3 different shops checked

Thanks, for sharing, how did you find the rims damage, none of the tireshops seem able to check rims for trueiness?

Vibration (like buffeting) 68-73MPH new tires, 3 different shops checked

I think so too, I will try put to neutral test but somehow I do think it is a coincidence. Will try one more drain and will add small dose of Lubeguard (not sure what LG version to use in 10-speed ULV though).

Vibration (like buffeting) 68-73MPH new tires, 3 different shops checked

before putting new rim, local tireshop did spin the rim to check it on the Hunter machine, did not see anything wrong with it. Tires from Tirerack were 03 2024.

Vibration (like buffeting) 68-73MPH new tires, 3 different shops checked

Yes, thank you for this valuable tip, I will try that. Competent GMC tech instrumented and rode with me , found that on a very steep incline in very low speed and low RPMs TQ shudders but in normal highway driving in the 65-73MPH speed band no shuddering that he can record on the tester. He...

Vibration (like buffeting) 68-73MPH new tires, 3 different shops checked

Carwash told me - "sue me, you are not getting a dime from us, too bad so sad." Of course, I could have gone to Small Claims but those are backed up for months. In retrospect, I should have paid $650 for a new rim from a dealer. However, 4 tireshops including with Hunter Elite RFB found zero...

Vibration (like buffeting) 68-73MPH new tires, 3 different shops checked

Thank you for pointing out this nuance. Initially, I deduced that since no vibration felt on the steering wheel or pedals and that vibrations are almost heard/felt by ears exactly like open rear window buffeting, I felt that it must be from the rear. However, if dealer indeed rotated ( I assume...

Vibration (like buffeting) 68-73MPH new tires, 3 different shops checked

Hope the wisdom of the crowd will help me troubleshoot further. I am stumped. This truck was one of the smoothest riding highway cruisers, zero vibrations for 49,000 miles of any kind up until recent episode. 23 Tahoe Duramax 3.0 4x4 LS with 10-speed AT with 49,500 miles. Carwash damaged/cut...

Anyone uses PIAA wipers on 2021+? What model # of PIAA fit 21+?

My experience exactly, bought the AC Delco Professional 892215, it was barely OK, same problem with TLP adapter that you described. I may end up jut ordering 84278338, I was just somewhat disappointed by how fast an OEM pair failed <6 months.

Anyone uses PIAA wipers on 2021+? What model # of PIAA fit 21+?

Thanks, yes that is the TLP part that Autozone does not list. I also saw that Bosch in their kits lists two sizes of TLP, if one was not enough

Anyone uses PIAA wipers on 2021+? What model # of PIAA fit 21+?

I need a pair of wiper for my 23, OEM ones last 6 months in NC heat, claybarred the windshield, cleaned the wipers and 308ed them, no success. Keep seeing PIAA silicon is magic. Willing to try now that Autozone sells them but not clear what part fits as AZ part finder does not find my 23 Tahoe...

21+ Yukon floor jack pad: what’s compatible for rear jack point/“socket:”

I have the same question what locations are safe to use with a floor jack? I need to be able to do tire rotation on my 2023. User Manual does specify that only bottle jack locations are acceptable but they will not work for doing rotations as I will need to use jack stands. Appreciate pictures...

How much trust do you have in the 3.0?

I think GM did a decent job on this engine but poor manufacturing quality is ruining mine -it has oil consumption. GM covered their behind by issuing a TSB saying that 1QT per 1000 miles is normal oil consumption and dealers are showing you this TSB when you come and ask to check the oil burn. I...

    Our trucks VS Toyota Sequoia???

In reading 2023 Sequoia is not well accepted by consumers and journalists alike. In fact there are more complaints about this new Sequoia from reviewers that one gets to wonder that only the power of brand carries it forward. I owned many Toyota and Lexus SUVs and they were reliable but all of...

    Duramax odors in cabin

Thank you, all. Yes, we need the good MPG while getting the behemoth size to fit my large family. Diesel odor does not bother me, but certainly do not want to inhale fumes in cabin which does not appear to be the case if truck is not defective.

    Duramax odors in cabin

Good to be back from a long hiatus, I went to the dark side of VW and Subaru but neither fit the need of our grown up 4 boys (two of them are 6.2' now). We are back considering the 23 Duramax Tahoe LS 4x4. However, cold feet comes from complaints about endless codes and what is even worst the...

    Expedition vs Yukon

I see a lot of reviewers mentioning a lot of wind noise on 2023 Sequoias from side mirrors, however none mentioned on 2022 Tahoes. Two Tahoes I drove had noticeable wind noise at 60+ MPH but I would not call it obtrusive. I wonder if for the reviewer to mention wind noise it has to be really bad?

    Gas prices making anyone reconsider?

Gas is heavily blended now with ethanol up to the max limit possible. Ethanol-rich fuel cuts mileage dramatically. Try Costco fuel, it is cheap for a reason (and not it is not because it is a loss leader). I have measured with an app, 3-4MPG between Costco and Exxon on two different vehicles...

    Price increase

I wish I knew, no wonder my order has not been picked up by GM, my order does not appear to be "sold order", man I suspect I will be looking at $2-3K more by the time they pick up. All deposits in my state for full-size are non-refundable. If I cancel, I am out of $1000, or maybe I should buy it...

    Price increase

I am trying to understand if the price hike for 2022 or 2023-only models? $1600 ($1500 + $100) is nothing to sneeze at, I get it that in % to the total price it is not as noticeable, especially for folks buying $80,000 Tahoes, but my order was for bottom of the barrel LS and $1600 is very...

After 7.5 months told order not accepted???

I got a call from my dealer and they told me that Max Trailering is holding my Diesel LS and has been for 4 months and will hold for unknown times. They really tried to convince me to delete Max Trailering but I kept it as I was planning to tow with it in mountains. I know Diesel does not have...
