    Yea I like the carb setup as well but thus time I think I'm going to keep ot fuel injected. And "try" my hand at learning to tune. This forum seems to have alot of genuine people that seems willing to help out when asked. But if all else fails... Holly here I come.

    I agree with everything you said, and to be honest I do have the time to learn the tuning process. Money wise what would be the cost involved in tuning, as opposed to the swap in question. And what would I need to get the process started

    I'm rebuilding a 99 5.7 vortec and would like to know if I'd still have to use a computer to set the timing or can I do it the old way "turning distributor by hand". Of course I'm changing the intake as well as add a carb.

    Suspected engine to have had blown head gasket ( I was wrong) used bars gasket seal. Flushed entire system and heater core. Also replaced radiator. Replaced coolant, made sure to get all air pockets out of system.

    My 5.7 vortec wont reach normal operating temp. Top radiator hose as well as the bottom only get warm to the touch no matter how long truck runs. I have minimal heat inside vehicle. Need a little help here, what could be the problem.

    Also have a new issue. Yukon wont go past 110 degrees at running temp. Let it run for about 30 mins. Same temp, it doesn't move. This just started. Wirked perfectly before. I removed thermostat to see if that'd help. No dice.
