    5.3 oil consumption

Bringing back an old thread! I mentioned a while ago that the dealership said our Yukon was in spec. We brought it in every 500 miles for a while and they checked it, after 2k miles, it had not used any, and they said it was good, as any oil needed after that would be in spec. I did not go 10...

    5.3 oil consumption

My local GM/Chev dealer said that is WAAAAY to much oil use, (duh, but good to hear anyway). It goes in for a leak check that should take about 30 minutes, and then back to dealer every 500 miles. Service writer says there is a baffle plate that needs to be updated. I will keep you updated.

    5.3 oil consumption

I am looking at having to add a quart of oil about every 1,400 miles or so. While the Yukon rides and drivers great, I have never had a vehicle drink so much oil. I have not kept a real close record, but I am going to start. We took a 3k mile trip, started with a fresh oil change, and added a...

    07 yukon starting problem

Our 07 had a bad fuel pump. Replaced under warranty, and all is fine.

    cracked f_ _ king dash

Hmmm, note to self on the dash issue, and being SOL. Sorry to hear that.

    Dead battery

You nailed it cwh! Intermitant dead cell. The folks that installed the DVD spent over an hour with it, and found just the battery issue. No charge:cheers: Easy instal on the battery, and we are good to go.

    Dead battery

The keys have never been left in. Not that we live in a dodgy neighborhood, it is just not something we do. I am willing to think battery, but dang, I have never had something like this. If i need to buy a bigger one, or perhaps duals, I will consider it, but I am guessing there is a problem...

    Dead battery

It is scheduled to go in on Monday to the folks who installed it. It is an upgraded model, "Z10" or something like that for the DVD system. They did say the previous model did have a drain problem. I will update in a few days.

    Dead battery

So far my wife feels that after a decade of minivans, the 07 Yukon XL is like taking a vacation every time she drives it. Thats the good part. The down side is 8 times in the last few months we have had a dead battery after it sits overnight. One time we traced it to the DVD system being...

    cracked f_ _ king dash

1st GM This is interesting for me to watch. While I have had just around 30 cars and trucks though the years, all have been Fords. I was getting nervous looking at this thread about the dash, as an 07 Yukon XL is our first GM ride. I was impressed that what appears to be a GM rep chimes in...

    Turning over, not starting

Looks like it was a fuel pump.

    Turning over, not starting

Went to start the 07 and all that happened is the starter engaged, turned over the engine like normal, but no start. What was odd is the lock cylinder felt strange, like it was sticking in the start position. It seems to be OK now, but something aint quite right. Battery and charging system...

24 Fords, and now a GMC

Got a few. I will get them up shortly. The things runs great and it a pleasure to drive. A very important item is that my wife loves it. Fairlane getting a bit of work done, I need to finish the dash and a few things. The Yukon is so refined compared to that.

24 Fords, and now a GMC

Life long Ford owner, uncle owned a Ford dealership, loved, (still do) 60s era Ford muscle cars. But, when it came to owning a SUV, a side by side comparison got us a 07 Yukon XL. Leather, heated seats front and rear, wife loves it. Denali grill to come soon, we will see what happens from...

    Expeditions Denalis and lacerations

A few posts down are several folks with the same problem. That being said, there was NO comparison with the Expedition interior. The Denali just walked all over it, as did the run of the mill Yukon XLs. The Expedition is a brick, the Yukons and certainly the Denali has style, and lots of it...

Interior Door Handles - Chrome Tape

Took and 07 Denali for a test drive. First GM we may own. Got a one inch laceration on my finger and bleed nicely till the salesman got a band aid. Hmm, Expedition interior handles are metal, but the rest of the vehicle is just too ugly.

    Expeditions Denalis and lacerations

It will be odd with a Yukon next to the Fairlane and Shelby Mustang, but hey, I can get over it. I found Denali Grill.com and a lot of other accessories on here, so it is going to be fun.

    Expeditions Denalis and lacerations

3 bucks and I can replace them every few years! I can live with that. Did you know that a Fuel Injection Control Modual for a Ford 6.0 diesel is 1,600 bucks? That I can not live with. This is the information I need. I do not mind tinkering with stuff, if it is a known problem, then there...

    Expeditions Denalis and lacerations

Took a 07 Expedition out for a 20 mile drive, then a 07 Denali. When I got out of the Denali, my finger raked across the interior door handle and got a 1 inch laceration from the plastic chrome peeling. I bleed like a stuck pig. Is that something that needs to be addressed in all of the...

    Ford to Yukon XL

The Denali I drove was at the Ford dealer near the Subway. I lived in Aloha/West Hills Portland for a few years. It will be a daily driver, not a hot rod. If it tows anything, it will be motorcycles.

    Ford to Yukon XL

Probably end up with a Yukon XL due to cash. Love it the Denali, just can''t pay for it, fuel the 6.2 and a wife and three kids. The 6.2 was fast, but I don't want to feed it. Has the "active fuel management"(?) been working out OK on the other engines? We are able to go with a Yukon XL...

    Ford to Yukon XL

After getting shafted by buying a 6.0 Super Duty, and putting up with a piece of crap Windstar, it is time to look at a leap to a Yukon XL. Trying to get something with less than 30K on it. Is there a year to avoid? An engine or transmission combo that is bad news? I have had over 25 cars...

This sounds like a win/win. We will see soon. More to learn as I look around here.

    Denali vs Yukon

That is the question, who built it and where, and where does the money go. So when looked for a new lawn tractor, do I buy one who's parent company is U.S. but it is built foreign, or do I buy say a Kubota, that is built in Georgia and is a Japanese corporation. Same with my in-laws Toyota...

    Denali vs Yukon

This is going to be my wife's ride. She has had enough of the mini van, and I got the last pick when I got my truck. The Yukon or Denali will be used for running around town, trips to Oregon from WA, (about 150 miles one way), grocery store etc. We have three kids, 7,9 and 11, and we would...
