    OK so after looking at all the RPO codes the vehicle is neither a PPV nor an SSV. It is a Gov ordered 4wd Fleet vehicle from what I am reading? Just trying to get a complete understanding of these codes and SSV's since mine is a SSV, a 5W4 and a Commercial vehicle.

    So if they say it is a PPV then where is the RPO code for PPV? This gets more confusing by the post? How can any of this be without the correct RPO codes to back it up????? In 2012 it can NOT be a 4wd and be a PPV! NOT possible! They did not offer a 4wd PPV until somewhere around 2015 I think?

    I am still confused. Just because it is a 4wd how does that make it a SSV without being a 5W4 on a 2012? Maybe someone can clarify this for me as I was told it had to be a 5W4 to be a SSV which my 2013 is which is also a Commercial?

    So, I did a thing…….and Hello…..My PPV project.

    Same color combination! They could be from the same dept if they did not have different markings on them. Mine is truly from the Winchester New York West Seneca Fire District #1 and it too was the EMS Unit. I am still working on the original style decals to be able to remark it correctly.

    I did something slightly different to mine. I had taken these pictures with my work camera and it picked up the dust on the trim. I guess I should have wiped it down before I took the pictures? Oops!

    Well I do not see the RPO Code 5W4 so it would not be an SSV? Now I am confused as I thought all the police 4x4's were SSV's?

    I pulled out the dome lights and then ran the wire from one hole to the next and then put the dome lights back in so the wire runs up on top of the headliner where it is nice and safe.

    I drive one of these bricks every day and I also have driven an 8 second 1/4 mile fox body mustang. This brick is not going in the 8's without some very serious mods unless it is off a cliff in freefall! Sorry to burst your bubble but nice ride none the less. :-}

    My point was if you program it to the VIN the VIN knows the vehicle is a PPV/SSV and would be programmed accordingly as the vehicle left the factory? Unless you got the VIN to a regular Tahoe and had it programmed to that VIN? Not 100% sure on this but that is what the tech told me just now.

    Yes but won't they will come preprogrammed for how the vehicle came from the factory? That would still not resolve the changes he is looking for without additional updating. At least that is my understanding but I could always be wrong.

    Try a different dealership as I got it done so I know for a fact it cost $50 to get the program from GM to turn them back on.

    I have a 2013 SSV and my dealership turned my Automatic Headlights and Daytime Driving Lights back on and it only cost $50 for the special programming from GM to turn them back on? Why would you need $500 in programming? Makes no sense to me?
