OR VietVet Build thread for 2006 Yukon Denali XL-Cancelled

It is a long term issue with me, I am not married to OEM parts but I hate putting used hard to reach parts back in. For me, spark plugs on these trucks are a pain after two back surgeries. I went back in ACDelco on both of my trucks, same with knock sensors and I even had a bad ACDelco knock...

OR VietVet Build thread for 2006 Yukon Denali XL-Cancelled

You are better than I am, if I pull one I usually pull all 8, if I pull all 8 then I am going back in with new OEM plugs.

    314k mile cam

Thanks but most of the credit goes to the fleet service at ATT, I just kept up the tradition. Once a year I do an engine flush with Liqui-Moly 2037 on all of my vehicles. I have only owned it 10 years and it gets beat on frequently. I considered selling it a few times, I have other trucks...

    314k mile cam

I thought someone might be amused by this. The truck is my 2003 2500HD RCLB 4x4 LQ4. It has had a long and wonderful life and is still being used as our farm truck. It was an old ATT supervisor's truck and I got it at 274k miles. I had the motor mounts and oil pump replaced at 299k and it...

2004 Tahoe LS - Street Touring Style

Nice plan. I would say if you do not already have the LQ9 then skip it and go for the LQ4, it is cheaper and the biggest difference is the LQ9 has higher compression via pistons and command a higher price than an LQ4, and you will need to drop compression anyway to play nice with boost. No...

    Thin gray line tahoe build

That really looks good, I like it. I was strongly considering the Raptor Liner for my old F350 but I think I am going with Durabak 18 so I can get a smooth finish instead of the rough textured one and it is available in the two tone colors I need to match the stock paint. It is cost...

    Blurred's 04 Tahoe Z71 build - Mr. Greenly Greenerson

Old and cranky I am, but I do question the sanity of anyone putting a tag for an completely unrelated vehicle in their ad. I wonder just how often someone is searching for a specific vehicle and a Corolla comes up and they decide they would rather have the Corolla than what they were actually...

    Blurred's 04 Tahoe Z71 build - Mr. Greenly Greenerson

They do it everywhere. I must be getting old and cranky, I have been searching Craigslist for an early C4 and have to remember to select "search titles only". If I do not then the search returns all kinds of unrelated vehicles and it is usually a used dealer that puts tags for a Fusion as...

    Blurred's 04 Tahoe Z71 build - Mr. Greenly Greenerson

That is being sold by a dealership, $2000 is the down payment.

    Dan's ratty truck

I love it. I had that same truck in a 2002 year model. The little 4.8 and a 5 speed and 4wd with a small lift was a great combination. I regret to this day ever letting it go. My only complaint was it rode like a tractor.

    2003 Tahoe LT - Sister's 1st Vehicle [Update 12/8/19 - Pillars + Brush Guard]

Excellent progress. I have enjoyed your sound system builds. Five Star Car Stereo on YouTube has a couple vids of the procedure to bypass the Bose system. They helped me greatly when I did mine.

    Seat airbag question

Yeah, I took them out by myself, wasn't going to put them in by myself.

    Seat airbag question

Agreed, I have a dislike to having things blow up in my face so I opted for the guaranteed way. I wanted to clean the carpets, but that can wait, they aren't bad. One of those seats seems to weighs more than the entire bench seat in my 2500HD. Both amps are installed, LUX amp removed, now...

    Seat airbag question

I solved it myself, had the wife help me set those heavy damn seats back in there, plugged them back in. I wasn't ready to put them back yet, but I don't want a bag to go off and I didn't want to risk an SRS light. I did find several who had no issues with unplugging them with the battery...

    Seat airbag question

2003 Yukon XL Denali. I have the front seats out doing an amp install, battery disconnected, center console back in. If I hook up the battery to test and tune the system without the front seats plugged in, are there any concerns with the airbag system, because the front seats are not plugged...

    2005 GMC Yukon XL Denali

I thought they did, now I am not sure they do. Forgive me, I thought they were Xenon HID's in the Denali. I think your eyes may be worse than mine, these headlights have been great, but I live way out in the country with almost no light pollution and that may make a difference.

    2005 GMC Yukon XL Denali

I will be 55 this year, my Denali has awesome lights, much better than many vehicles. Perhaps yours have an issue with the ballasts?

    2013 Avalanche...LMG 5.3 to L96 6.0 (Pics)

The oil cooler was major, dropped all the oil out on IH35, (tpwtruck) the G80 locked up the rear diff, (towtruck) fortunately we were closer to home that time. My best friend has the right idea, when the warranty runs out, trade it in. Don't get me wrong, I like the truck, but neither of my...

    2013 Avalanche...LMG 5.3 to L96 6.0 (Pics)

Catastrophic oil leak, (misformed oil cooler) G80 locked solid, random misfires, and something else I do not remember. It has been towed back to dealership twice. All in all it has had more problems in a short period than any vehicle we have owned. We are both retired, have owned a lot of...

Keep the Avalanche my wife has a 2015 Z71 and I am not impressed, it has been back to the dealer 4 times now.

    Tank's '02 Z71 Tahoe Rescue

Good job!!! It works pretty good if you go over everything with it. The wheel wells, transmission tunnel and doors are where the majority of the sound is transferred to the interior. The roof as well, mostly for the insulation value and the radiant barrier but sound does transmit through there...
