I would say reliability and dependability probably are, but quality is a whole separate thing imo. Paint and interior can look like crap and the vehicle can still be dependable.

Shop around, I would even shoot the guy listed above an email. Dealer here, who is a supposed friend, wanted 2500 for 5 year 100k with 100 deductible. Said that was as low as she could go because they go for 3900. Obviously that's not as low if someone else got theirs for 1750.
I actually...
A vehicle can have all the bells and whistles, but if it doesn't run it's not one of the better vehicles. An even easier concept to grasp.
It is unacceptable for a vehicle with only 55k miles to have all of these issues. I'd expect that from a Kia, not a 60+k vehicle.

Lol "aside from reliability issues this is one of the better vehicles on the market." That statement cracks me up. Reliability is my #1 concern on what makes a good vehicle or not. With that many issues with 55k miles, that is a BIG cause for concern. That statement is something only a big 3 fan...
As long as your vehicle is still under manufacturer warranty, you should be able to go to any GM dealer and get the warranty.

By no means am I bashing you. My thought behind all of it is we have enough civil liability as it is. A lot of small departments do some shady stuff, not saying yours does.
We call anything done in a uniform on duty. If it's an extra assignment (same stuff you describe) we call it contracted...
I am. If your department is contracting duty requiring you to wear a uniform and expect you to take police enforcement actions, they should be providing you with a police vehicle as well.
Add to that if they're calling that duty "off duty" they're setting you up for personal liability that I...
Why would you want lights in your personal vehicle... opening yourself to being a target. Opening yourself to liability. If you're off duty and you get called in, there is no reason to run code to go pick up your patrol car. If you get called in that much and it requires you to hastily respond...
If you're doing a roof top tent, which I'm assuming since you mentioned overland, most of those come with the ladder built into them.

While you don't get as good of fuel mileage, a lot of the tune guys use it in sports cars because flex fuel is peppier and actually gives gains.

If they were all flex fuel I would think these sites would say that. Nothing I have found says they're all flex fuel since 2015, and even the owner's manual doesn't state it's flex fuel. It says it will have a yellow sticker on the fuel door (mine does not). Posting a press release of a flex...
Do you have a source? Couldn't find anything with a quick google source, actually found quite the contrary. Google search says GM got away from flex fuel in 2015.

Owners manual says it will have a sticker on the fuel door. Pretty sure my 2017 isn't a flex fuel either. My explorer is capless and flex fuel, it has a yellow band around the fuel area, so I'd say no, it probably isn't .

It's price gouging. They did it back on 9/11 too, and a bunch of places got in trouble for it. Those places paid low prices to fill their tanks, then jacked the prices during a time of emergency. Scum bags.

Dip works ok, if you prep and remove. You can do it on the vehicle, but is a lot more hassle I found. The problem with plastidip is it is textured. So it will not be smooth like your paint and vinyl. It's a good cheap alternative, and I did when I had my Tundra, but I'd just pay the extra for...
All manufacturers will have issues with something. It is inevitable. The difference between some of the guys here is they'll defend GM to the death, regardless of problems they're having, or other people are having. However if someone complained about the same things with a Toyota for example...
Uhh hate to let facts get in your way, but show me a Chevy 1/2 ton truck that had a million miles put on it with no major mechanical work other than routine maintenance. Because I can link you to a 2007 Tundra.
There are a lot of GM fanboys here, a lot of "I only buy American..." blah blah...
