    Battery not charging

No, sadly, that is the one I didn't get a picture of. It is the fuse link and once I removed it from the Yukon, I cut the insulation off in pieces to see how bad the corrosion was. The damaged area only took up about 3 inches on the alternator end, but the number of strands of wire was...

    Battery not charging

Yep, that would be the one. Thanks for the sympathy, although I am feeling a bit of sarcasm.

    Battery not charging

Here is a picture of the original problem. By the way, that is the plug for the TPS. The damage was hidden underneath the deteriorating plastic loom.

    Battery not charging

I was glad, as well. As to the fingers, it just seemed like an odd means to find an electrical problem. Whatever it takes, right?

I like the response. That's perfect.

    Battery not charging

FOUND IT! I'm really not sure how this could have been a part of the initial problem, but perhaps high resistance was the issue. While moving some of the electrical fittings around, I twisted the lead that exits the alternator and goes to the red battery block. It sparked and burned my...

    Battery not charging

I should have guessed that the TPS harness was the issue, at least the starting point. I finally managed to get back under the hood, removed all of the covers and lit the engine bay to be able to see better. Lo and behold, upon removing the TPS plug and peeling back some of the loom, I found...

    Oil leak

You might want to pull the top engine covers off and take a look at the valve cover gaskets. I found a leak that was originating from the right rear valve cover but the oil, at rest, finally dripped on the ground from the front left. Drove me nuts. Replaced the gaskets with Felpro and haven't...

    Battery not charging

Now I am more suspicious of the tps harness. Neither of the two blown fuses I found appear to be affiliated with the tps, but anything is possible at this point. Gonna have to see what damage I might have done.

    Battery not charging

No, I use an Autel MD808. As to the wiring, it's an amazing thing. I used to be able to open the hood and see what GM knit together when they built this truck. Now, however, with each and every part that I replace, I notice the wiring loom disintegrating. All you have to do is flex the cable...

    Battery not charging

I am at work right now with no access to the scan tool. However, I did check the ground and some of the other leads. My question would be this.....would the replacement of the tps cause this to happen?

    Battery not charging

A thank you to all in advance. So, I'm driving home from work in my 2004 Yukon XL Denali when, out of the clear blue, it goes into LHM. This vehicle has 240,000 miles on the odometer and I have owned it since new. The only other time LHM mode has happened was last summer when I was driving...

    Instrument panel

I should have been a bit more definitive about the state of the panel. The panel lights all work. The interior lights work, as well. What I mean by dead is the individual indicators, whether they be the actual needles or the warning lights, are all stuck in the off position. It's almost as...

    Instrument panel

Hello to all. I hope somebody can enlighten me on what is going on with my 2004 Yukon Denali XL. Got up to a subfreezing morning yesterday. The Yukon was a bit weak on the start, but nothing I haven't seen before on a cold day. I have about a 10 minute drive to work and after a minute or so...
