A year back my rear end went and I swapped my gears for a lower range (3:73 vs 3:27).
I have the front dif with 3:27 gears in my workshop that has been sitting for a while and I'm looking to get rid of it if anyone is interested. This is from an '05 Tahoe LT, swapped around 190k miles. We ran...
Brakepreformance.com slotted and dimpled rotors with a lifetime warranty. Got them on the '05 Tahoe when the original rotors needed to be replaced. Great company to work with.
I did not upgrade my sway bar, but changed all the bushing to poly in the sway bar and control arms. That and good shocks made a WORLD of difference. My 05 Tahoe is planted on the road now.
I've always aligned the lows and when I turned on the highs I noticed the left was aimed down way lower than the low beam or the right side. I should be able to check the housing and reflector tonight.

I replaced the bulbs on the '05 hoe a while back for the low beams and recently the high beams. I checked alignment on the lows but it seems like the left high beam points straight down. I don't remember if it was like this before I replaced the bulb.. Not a clue how to fix that without messing...
Get some brake grease and lube the pins. Pull the pads off, clean everything with brake cleaner and put some anti squeal on the back of the pads.

The sway bars and the rear bushings are super easy. I haven't tried to tackle the front since I'm a bit concerned about my ball joints but I'll get there eventually. Just going to poly made a big difference on the sway bars (so much less sway) and my rear end doesn't wander around anymore with...
I just replaced the rear lower control arm bushings with poly from energy suspension. Huge difference and stopped mine from swaying back and forth on the freeway. It feels like the rear end is completely planted now. Cheap and really easy.
Thanks for the write-up. I just picked up some new poly bushings and swaybar links from energy suspension. From the writeup it looks like you're using poly bushings that came with the kit. Do you think the bushings and links are making a majority of the difference or the bar itself?
Either way...
I get the same thing on my 05 5.3 with 117000 miles on it and was told to get an oil filter with a back flow preventer... Next oil change is coming up and I will let you know if that does anything. Definitely drives me nuts because it isn't a noise that I had until just over 112k.

I have an 05 and just recently noticed the steering wheel doesn't lock with the ignition off. Could this also have been the result of someone aligning and forgetting something?
