I've tried exactly what you are doing and I ended up buying the mounts. I used some U bolts but they even had the flat piece of metal on the inside and outside to help hold it and the rack kept sliding one direction or the other. Pitman Arm and Idle Arm Replacement
I have been performing a replacement of my pitman arm and idle arm on my 99 Tahoe and am trying to figure out if I really need a Steering Linkage Installer to properly seat the ball stud to the stearing relay rod? What is this tool for? Doesn't the nut do the same thing?- hoenshell
