    Service 4WD *FIXED*

I swapped in a rebuilt NP8 in my 03 Yukon with no issues. I didnt need a relearn or anything and also swapped in a new ignition tumbler and ive got no codes other than constantly under "driver 2". I did use the old Encoder although it came with one. Ive had no codes. Is it actually going into...

    Clunking when taking off

Similar but its just a single clunk. Not multiple. I did just replace my front shaft. I greased it. I may need to grease my rear shaft. And it does not do it on bumps. Only after hitting the brakes.

    Clunking when taking off

So my 03 Yukon 4x4 has developed a clunk when taking off after taking my foot off the brakes. It happens 1-2 seconds after. Ive checked everything i can think of nothing feels or sounds loose. Ive checked calipers, everything steering wise, torsion bar cross member mounts, trans mount (its wore...

2003 GMC Yukon Rear HVAC issue

So continuing on with this. I had found a new module. It works. Went through the reset procedure,by pulling the files while truck is off for 30 seconds. Re inserted them, put it on heat and fan setting lowest. It did the test successfully. Both The actuators moved both directions then rested in...

2003 GMC Yukon Rear HVAC issue

Ah ok. I did try pulling the fuse and putting it back in but did not work. I'll see if I can find a new or used HVAC control module.

2003 GMC Yukon Rear HVAC issue

My 2003 GMC Yukon rear HVAC is stuck on heat. Ive cleaned the control know on the overhead console, and put a new actuator. Still nothing. The blend door is working properly when I manually move it between heat and air. Do the rear HVAC need to relearn like the front does? I do have the digital...

Service Brake Light on After doing rear brakes.

Update: after doing some talking and digging it turns out the proportioning valve piston was too far forward causing the sensor to read wrong. After bleeding the front brakes it brought the piston back to center and light went away. Turns out this can happen when compressing caliper pistons on...

Service Brake Light on After doing rear brakes.

Did that about 5 times. No difference, but I did find out when I unplug this sensor for the proportioning valve it goes away. I do have a parts truck i could get it off of. Would i be able to "reset" or clean said valve and sensor? I think there is a piston of sorts in there from what research I...

Service Brake Light on After doing rear brakes.

On my 2003 GMC Yukon, I replaced the rear parking brake shoes and pads. I had to compress the caliper pistons to get them on with the new pads. Now I have a Service Brake System light on and not sure why. No ABS on or anything. My scan tool can't read the code that may be present. Any help would...

    P0800 Code Transfercase 2003 Yukon

Transmission shifts fine, so maybe not TCM related? But I can't be certain, I'm still learning these trucks.

    P0800 Code Transfercase 2003 Yukon

My 2003 GMC Yukon has developed a P0800 Code but all connections are good, it shifts through 4Lo, 4Hi, and 2wd fine. It has a newer Encoder from when I swapped transfercases about a month ago. What could possibly be the issue? Should I not be super concerned because everything works fine on the...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Was not today but yesterday evening I replaced both front rotors, calipers, and pads on my 03 Yukon. The old ones were junk and the calipers were rusty as heck. So I used the nearly new calipers and pads with the new rotors off my parts frame for it. I'll say a vacuum brake bleeder is the way to...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

It was not today but yesterday I put a 50k mile rebuilt transfercase in my 03 Yukon. Got a brand new Encoder motor out of it too! I will say it is a absolute bastard and a half to do it by yourself on the ground with no lift. Heavy as I'll get out. But after 3hrs I got it swapped fought getting...

    2003 Yukon rear axle swap

I thought so. It's made multiple 5hr trips to Ottawa, Emporia, And Wichita for work with no issues at all. Next it will need the transfer case halfs re sealed.

    Rear differential swap help

Yes as Mark said it will need programed. I was mistaken i didn't think about it affecting the WOT shifts. Any dealership or most larger shops could program it for you. And I was not aware that the 4:10s were more common.

    Rear differential swap help

4x4 definitely you will destroy your tcase or front diff and most everything in between the moment you put it into 4x4. Non 4x4 your speed may be off some it's not a very big deal.

    Rear differential swap help

It will work as long as they are the same gearing. I just swapped a 01 tahoe axle in my 03 Yukon. I did a write up on all tools and the process of it. You will need to pull the diff cover off to check gearing if the axle is un known. But I personally would. I added 80/90 and a new pinion seal...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Swapped out my bad axle in my 03 Yukon with a good one from a 01 tahoe. 3rd Pic is the axle I took out and 2nd Pic is right before I put it in. It was a pain in the butt by myself but I got it in about 4ish hours.

    2003 Yukon rear axle swap

It is a big pain in the butt to change out if your by yourself and have only floor jacks and jack stands. It took 5hrs (granted mine was rusty as heck and a few bolts needed cut) including a few sanity breaks. But there were only a few tools needed. I didn't take any pics during the swap but did...

Transfer case or Front End whine/growl.

A update to my post. After getting it in the air and checking where the noise was it's coming from the rear axle after all. Around the pinion/ ring gear area. I've purchased a roller 4x4 01 Tahoe frame with both axles in 3:73 to swap over. Got lucky and all suspension components seem to be...

    2003 Yukon rear axle swap

So a week or so ago I found out my rear pinion bearing is out or the rear gear set is just wore out. It's a 2003 GMC Yukon 4x4. I found and bought a 2001 Chevy Tahoe 4x4 rolling frame. Everything besides engine and transmission. It's exact same gearing 3:73s. I'll be doing the swap this...
