What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Those look really nice. I tried to locate your build thread, but couldn't find it. Guess I'll need to improve my detective skills :)

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I did the upgrade as well. Pretty straight forward install, but performance only improved slightly. Not sure if it was worth the cost or not ($110)

    really loud systems, anyone?

I like my cargo area too much to sacrifice the space for something that is going to adversely effect my hearing ;)

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I'm looking at the same for my Tahoe. Trying to get rid of that stink bug look and get the hitch closer to the ground for better towing.

    Rear suspension upgrades?

Dorman makes springs? Be careful. Anything metal I've ever had from Dorman has been made from very cheap steel. Very nice looking ride by the way.

    Fast idle on startup

2017 Tahoe 65K miles, 5.3 engine. A few months ago, the truck started idling fast (1300rpm) at the first startup of the day. Outside temp does not seem to effect this behavior. It does this about 95% of the time and then it will be fine the rest of the day. Takes about 90 seconds for the idle to...

    AC Delco oil filter

I switched to PPE. So far, I'm impressed. A lot more media and they filter down to a lower micron level than anything else I've found. And here's the interesting part... the oil looked notably cleaner/lighter color after my last change.

    Remote kill switch

Can you suggest a "critical" fuse to remove on the 2015-2020 platform? I had an easy one to pull on my older chevy pickup which just disabled the fuel pump... but I'm a little more timid about pulling fuses on this electrical monster.

Are LED Headlight Bulbs Worth Upgrading To? Seeking Real World Advice

Headlight Revolution is an amazing source for information. He does a really good job at explaining why just slapping one type of light technology into a housing designed for another type, is not always the best idea. I was able to install some good quality LEDs into an older Suburban (2005) with...

But they're not, and given the cost of these new trucks - its inexcusable.

First oil change at 1455 miles

I switched away from the standard filters. I'm now using PPE high efficiency filters. They have roughly twice the filtering media inside and filter down to 10 microns. Most filters are about 30 microns. Not that I'm trying to extend my oil and filter changes, but I figure the more contaminants I...

    Rock Auto

Its after a mistake is made, that tells you everything about a company. Sadly, customer service has left the planet in the majority of businesses these days. I'll stick with a company if they honestly try and correct an error. In my last purchase from R/A, sorry to say, I got screwed and...

    Something's missing here

Hmmm.... our 05 Suburban had rear door courtesy lights (the ones in the lower door panel). Replaced them several times during the time we owned it.

OEM Cooling fans fuse box burned ports 3rd time

Too much resistance on the fan circuit (poor connections) or the fans are drawing too many amps. Thats whats cooking these things. Sounds like you have changed most everything except the fans. I'd be putting an amp probe on those fans to see what they are drawing.

    FRAM Oil Filter

I bought several of them after recommendations from some folks I trust. Just put the first one on a few weeks ago. On the next oil change, I plan on not only visually looking at the used oil for differences, but taking a sample and sending it off to Blackstone for analysis. I'm interested to see...

    FRAM Oil Filter

I'm experimenting with the PPE filter. More filtering media and it filters down to 10 microns versus 30 for most other filters. We'll see how it performs.

    2020 Suburban Premier w/ 250,000 miles. 11,500$

Nice find. Hope it continues to serve you well. I'm interested in your headlight upgrade. I've got the HID's as well and need better lighting at night. I've learned that its not as simple as a bulb swap when the factory housings are designed for a different lighting technology.

Do yall use regular or mid grade gas in the 5.3?

Same exact additives... just slightly higher concentrations as you move up the price per gallon scale. Consumer reports did a study on it a ways back and they were not able to find any quantifiable benefit in the higher concentration of additives. It was a no brainer to use premium gas decades...

Do yall use regular or mid grade gas in the 5.3?

Yes, top tier fuels have more additives than bargain basement fuel. But Chevron mid grade has the exact same additives as Chevron regular and premium grade fuels.

I looked at those as well for an upgrade to my HIDs... nice units. But the price is insane.
