    2023 Yukon Denali 3.0L Diesel Whining noise from engine

    Update on whining noise. Turns out the alternator bracket had come loose which put lateral stress on belt tensioner and idler pulley. They replaced both and retorqued the brackets. All good now, although it was a 2 day job !

    Wow great mpg

    I have a 2023 Yukon XL Ultimate with the 3.0 Diesel and 14,500 miles. The best mileage I've gotten is 38.3 mpg (on my dash display) on a 95N trip and loaded with 5 people, luggage and A/C on the whole trip. Average around our house which is both hwy and city is 28.5. Love this vehicle !

    Sorry to take so long to reply. All speeds, gets louder. Update from 10/7. Dealer took in and checked. Definitely either the idler pulley or the belt tensioner. They ordered both and will replace both. They are actually doing the work today so let's see how it goes.

    I have a 2023 Yukon Denali Ultimate 3.0L Diesel with 12,000 miles and the other day I noticed a whining noise from engine compartment. It sounds like a power steering pump but I believe they use electronic power steering. Possibly a defective idler pully ? The dealer won't be able to check it...

    Sorry for my delayed response but I deleted my phone waze app then also deleted it from the Yukon. Made sure I had good wifi hooked up at my house then downloaded the waze app again to the Yukon. Voila, now everything seems to work properly ! It did seem to take a very long time to download...
