Any regrets not getting a Suburban/XL instead of Tahoe/Yukon?

I had the same dilemma and decided to go with a Suburban - really glad I did! Love the extra space - we always use the third row and the cargo space in the "non-XL" version would not have been adequate for us.

BREAKING: GM is officially recalling the L87

They said this without me telling them my VIN. Unless they pulled it up by my phone number..hmm.. I guess I'll wait for my second GM letter at this point

BREAKING: GM is officially recalling the L87

got it, thanks! I'm still confused though why both dealers I talked too still say that are waiting for instructions from GM but I'm reading posts from people who have successfully taken their car for inspection..weird.

BREAKING: GM is officially recalling the L87

nice fish! :) BacDoc - what is the second GM letter you're talking about? I've got the one back in my that mentions the recall but says "parts to repair your vehicle are not currently available". I've also just called another dealer in the area asking about their readiness and they say they...

BREAKING: GM is officially recalling the L87

Just wondering if the dealers are now equipped to handle this recall. When I called back in early June, they weren’t ready yet. Has anyone taken their truck in for this recently? Thanks!

BREAKING: GM is officially recalling the L87

Out of curiosity : how much is a good mechanic's labor per hour in Russia? Around here it's around $150-200 from what I can tell based on my past invoices and quotes (Toyota, Chevy). To clarify: that's not what the mechanic earns - that's what dealer/services charges the customer

BREAKING: GM is officially recalling the L87

Many(most?) people (including myself) who bought these brand-new, just don't have the skill/equipment to do so and labor costs are much higher here than in Russia ( I assume ) to hire somebody else to do that. I have a warranty so I'm planning to just wait and see how this plays out.

BREAKING: GM is officially recalling the L87

Sorry to hear about your engine Vladimir. Can you share more details on what exactly the car did when that happened: did it kinda completely lock up the engine/transmission (as if you slammed on the brakes) or was it more like switching into neutral and the car just coasted until the complete...

BREAKING: GM is officially recalling the L87

Probably not many, at least among the people with Tahoes/Suburbans. I've got a 2023 Suburban and there is really no alternative except the Expedition but when I was doing research (pre-purchase) I got an impression that Ford had a bunch of own issues so it's not significantly better...

BREAKING: GM is officially recalling the L87

If that's true then it means no replacement for 100% of the engines in the recall window? So basically an inspection (whatever that entails to be seen I guess) and then replacing only the bad engines?

Thank you! In this case I'll cancel the appointment and go through the thread.

BREAKING: GM is officially recalling the L87

Has anyone gone to the dealer to get the recall checked yet? I called mine, and they sounded kind of clueless. At first, they said there was no recall, then changed their mind and said there is one. I was asked if I wanted an oil change, and I replied, 'Well, it's part of the recall, isn't...

Magnetic v. Air Ride - noticeable difference?

I was under impression that air ride includes magnaride and the air ride only is used for lift/lower the truck and level it during towing. So if you already have magnaride, adding air ride doesn't change the ride quality. This is was I read that gave me that impression...

Thinking of selling my new 6.2L Denali...

yep, that's what I did - got the longest warranty. I also change the oil every 5K and don't worry about the engine.

    From Lexus to Chevy?

I moved from a Lexus (albeit a smaller one - RX 350) to a High Country Suburban because I needed lots of room and comfortable third row. 1) I really like Lexus so I did look into the GX and LX 600 first but the additional space is pretty marginal compare to the RX (RX is 192", LX is 200" - 6...

    Help...too many choices [new Tahoe/GMC]

It was my understanding that Air Ride comes only with Magneride so it doesn't replace but rather compliments Magneride. I got Magneride without AirRide because I didn't want to deal with compressor issues etc.

    2024 Denali road noise

Got a 2023 High Country Suburban and yeah - it's noisier than I expected it to be for the money.(My old Lexus RX has less noise). Waiting for my Bridgestones to wear out and hoping Michelins will make a difference.

Maybe not all 6.2's have the bad lifter bore/ bearing wear issues

TSB doesn't seem to have the affected VIN ranges so I guess I'll have to call the GM as one of the previous posters did. I'm at 13k miles now... It would probably die already had it been affected? :) or is it false hope? P.S. Just chatted with GM customer support an after reviewing my VIN...

Maybe not all 6.2's have the bad lifter bore/ bearing wear issues

How would I know if my engine is affected? (my 6.2 is in 2023 Suburban). Do I just take it to the dealer and ask to inspect per that TSB? Thanks!

2023 Suburban - crack in the front camera -dealer says not covered under warranty

Thank you all for the advice! I couldn't even see the crack in the camera when I looked myself before taking it to the dealer (they said it was a hairline crack). I guess I can't rule out a small rock 100% but I was so sure that it's just caused by water getting in and freezing, expanding and...

2023 Suburban - crack in the front camera -dealer says not covered under warranty

Good morning! Hoping for an advice from the collective wisdom of the forum: I took our 2023 Suburban for a trip to Colorado last week and after I got back , I noticed that the front camera image became blurry and wiping the lens didn't help. Took it to the dealer and was told that there is a...

    Quality Control

I wouldn't worry about scratches on the plastic. I had one scratch when I got my 2023 suburban and now few month later I have a lot of them (kids did it :) ) because the plastic used in the trunk, 3rd row and bottom of the door is super soft and I can easily scratch it with my nail. Wish they...

    Just took delivery!

Can you share where you got the door edge guards? I'm looking for them now that I have scratched my door edge after dropping smth at a drive-through and bumping the door when I opened it to pick the item up :) thanks!

    Our trucks VS Toyota Sequoia???

If you need something the size of Suburban/Yukon XL then Sequoia is not really a competition so reliability rating is somewhat irrelevant :) When I was in the market for a large SUV, I look at everything and NOTHING comes close to the spacious cabin and cargo space of Suburban/Yukon XL (went...

23 Yukon AC cooled seats suck

Could be that it's just broken? I just picked up my 2023 Suburban from service (another issue) and when I got into the car, the A/C was blowing hot air for a minute or so ( never noticed it before) Then I noticed that I don't feel ventilation in the seats at all and I could swear it was a...
