Escalade platinum 09+ interior in NNBS 08

Finally had some time to work on the hoe. Escy 2012+ power tilt steering column took its place, ofc with memory. The swap is pretty much straightforward: look into the schematics and add the missing wires. Previously I had to jump everything together to make sure it will work as I still was...

Removal & Reinstallation of "Roof Panel Joint Finish Molding" -- Any Advice/Experience?

You can bend them backwards so instead of pealing at the edges it will try to peal at the center. Then you use some thick (I've used 1.6mm I believe) 3m vhb and bob's your uncle. Ofc you'll need to clean it from the old vhb which is a huge pita and thoroughly degrease everything but it does the job.

Removal & Reinstallation of "Roof Panel Joint Finish Molding" -- Any Advice/Experience?

That sealant there is not covered up by paint and has no UV resistance, that's why it will eventually fail without these beauty strips. Freeze/thaw cycles will help it fail faster because more water will build up on top and on already flaring edges of completely solid sealant with almost zero...

Removal & Reinstallation of "Roof Panel Joint Finish Molding" -- Any Advice/Experience?

I've just teared them off. Was a pita to straighten them back for reinstallation. All they do is help to prevent water gathering up on the sealant that's underneath. If you leave them out, be prepared to re-do the sealant because it will definitely crack after some freeze-unfreeze cycles in winter

Any Advice/Experience with Cleaning A Jittery Volume Knob Encoder?

I've sprayed one of my radios' encoder with huge amounts of contact cleaner, it did the trick. Ofc the radio's front panel had to be disassembled to do so. Won't recommend this unless you're pretty well versed with disassembling old electronics — it's very easy to break the plastic or damage the...

09+ door panels in 08 Escalade - will the switches work?

"new" design door panels will be a drop-in replacement, but the switches from 09+ escy probably won't work. The thing is they've added express-up mode to front windows (windows go up with a single click like it was with going down from the very start of gmt900) and the switches won't work...

Escalade platinum 09+ interior in NNBS 08

I've got an idea that maybe it all comes down to either parking assist ECU (the black Bosch box under passenger's seat) or the steering wheel angle sensor (doughnut-shaped thing on the bottom of the steering column). By magic of having a huge ton of spares from different years I intend to test...

Escalade platinum 09+ interior in NNBS 08

Usually I program stuff myself (I've got experience with SPS and less "legal" DPS) but that only works for original gm calibrations. To get the newer (2009) cluster and newer (2013) radio to work with older (2008) BCM I basically had to send it out to people experienced in making modifications...

Escalade platinum 09+ interior in NNBS 08

Also, I've installed freshly programmed BCM and now I can use 2010+ radios. My 2008 escy radio is pretty beaten up looks-wise (works just fine though) and I've got 2009 6disc one and 2013 single-disc w/ front aux. Both also have USB that I wanted to try out for quite a long time already, the...

Escalade platinum 09+ interior in NNBS 08

My headliner was detailed and too many stains are still present. The salvage yard I've got most of the escy's interior from wasn't very high quality after all. Looks like I'll have to bite the bullet and get myself another headliner in not-so-distant future, or find some good upholstery shop and...

Escalade platinum 09+ interior in NNBS 08

Oh, and if you're wondering "what body & frame work would take 2 months", here's your answer. Since I'm from that part of Europe that gets huge amounts of snow and doesn't care about my car at all, the frame was quite rusty. No structural damage at the time but getting a new frame is getting...

Escalade platinum 09+ interior in NNBS 08

After that I've got the car from the body shop and the rest of the assembly finally began. First photo is a WIP of transplanting the KB6 seats into a car without them. Basically, a huge pile of wires once again. Then the carpet and the headliner were installed. Installing the headliner with a...

Escalade platinum 09+ interior in NNBS 08

In early July I've finally got two essential pieces for continuing the project: the cluster was programmed and I've got the gorgeous cocoa carpet from 2011 escy. I've decided to go with cocoa carpet because it looks just ✨. The beige carpet I've got from the salvage yard was beaten to complete...

Escalade platinum 09+ interior in NNBS 08

In the very beginning of May I've finally formally started the project. The hoe's interior was fully removed and in next 3 days with almost zero sleep the escy's harness was fully transplanted into Tahoe. I had very limited time before I needed to get the car to the frame & body work so I've...

Escalade platinum 09+ interior in NNBS 08

In the meantime, here's some more WIP photos of the project. In the late April I've gutted out the escy's IP harness and got all the multimedia pieces labeled. At the same time I've assembled a kind-of bench harness to power up the electronics to make sure they actually work (since they came...

Escalade platinum 09+ interior in NNBS 08

Well the driver's seat is being torn apart once again because it seems like the salvage yard's seat harness was either rotten or beaten to shit and after 1 week of driving the seat stopped moving back while it's ok with moving forward (I've sandwiched myself between the seat and the steering...

Escalade platinum 09+ interior in NNBS 08

Externals of my NNBS look really ****** so I don't think I'll post any compete photos anytime soon. But yeah, it's already finished and it's basically a functioning 2011 platinum escy inside.

    Suburban/Tahoe floor carpet compatibility

Lwb and swb rear and center carpets are different, the front is the same. 11+ captains carpet fits 07-10 captains just fine, it even has the additional bench's bolt cutout. Source: I've swapped 11+ escy cocoa carpet into my 08 tahoelade that originally came with bench.

    Suburban/Tahoe floor carpet compatibility

The seats are indeed not interchangeable, I'm a fool

Escalade platinum 09+ interior in NNBS 08

So yeah, it's finally finished. Escalade cluster, audio, radio, hvac controls, vented seats, rse, heated/cooled platinum cupholders — everything works. Adding the RSE and vented seats was somewhat challenging, but I've finished the hardest part (UQS amp swap) a year ago and the rest is much...

    Replace Glove Box Lock Cylinder

Were you able to disassemble it? Trying the same now, can't get it out

    Suburban/Tahoe floor carpet compatibility

The 2nd row seats are definitely interchangeable (because my 2nd row seats are actually from suburban), but you're right: the center section is in fact different. That leaves me with the same front piece and a lot of cutting for the center and the trunk sections. Not worth it from the looks of it.

    Suburban/Tahoe floor carpet compatibility

Does anyone know if long-wheel base (suburban/caddy ESV) floor carpet can be made to fit the standard length SUV (Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade)? The front part is 100% the same, the central section that goes under the captains seems to be at least fitting if not the same, but I'm not sure if just...

Seat cushion- OEM, Durofoam or eBay special?

Let's revive the old thread! After researching my options (mainly here) I've bought The Seat Shop durafoam cushion. It was a PITA getting it to Europe since somehow WW shipping was unavailable and literally none of the forwarders wanted to deal with such a big parcel. After spending almost...
