How to tell if a Tahoe is an LS or LT?

After 23 years, not sure if a definitive answer is possible, without sales materials. Someone will eventually locate sales materials for 2001. Meanwhile, I'd recommend: 17" wheels front brake caliper brackets calipers rotors and pads from a 2010 Suburban Once done, you'll NEVER go back.

04 burb cuts out when hits below 1/4 tank

Since 2000, my Chevy Caprices and Cadillac Fleetwood (23 gallon fuel tanks) pretty much trained me to drive very conservatively once the fuel level indicated 1/4 tank or less, for fear of the engine shutting down stopped on steep hills or during hard acceleration / hard braking / hard cornering...

07+ Brake upgrade on a 00-06 NBS, is it worth it?

I suppose there's no way to be sure whether it's the larger rotor or the upgraded caliper that's improving my stopping distances and brake pedal response. All I know is, my GMT821 will never go back to using GMT800 front brakes.

    DOD AFM Delete videos

Do you mean, does this video about disabling Cylinder Confusion, apply to engines prior to Engine Half@$$? Can't answer that myself. I can speculate that the use of the Engine Half@$$ oil pump in an engine that is always a full time V8 is unnecessary, but I also don't see how it'd be harmful...

    DOD AFM Delete videos

Might have something to do with the fact that the cause of the increased oil consumption is the extra oil pressure IN CONJUNCTION with Engine Half@$$? Not that I'm sure - it'd be nice if @XSELLR8 would chime in?

Uh, YEAH. Especially since the failed parts were NOT forged.

Main Bearing Failure with 6.2L at 3,200 miles

So the GM tech is going to 'visually' inspect for metallic flakes? How much you wanna bet they're going to assign techs with bad vision specifically in terms of examining for ultrafine metallic particles?

IFF you are looking for more torque/power UNDER 3500RpM AND are uninterested in revving past 6000RpM AND are uninterested in peak power past 5400RpM then I very strongly doubt you'd need to delete VVT. Limiting it may still be wise.

    Pedal commander who’s got one?

Pedal pumpers are not for the stopwatch, they are to make the driver feel better. ... Y'know how, when you adjust the traction control to SNOW mode in an unnecessarily complicated vehicle, no matter how quickly your foot moves the throttle pedal, the throttle itself moves more slowly? Pedal...

    Towing stability

It IS a factor, regardless of what you mean by 'one size'. Although the ring and pinion ratio remains constant regardless of tire size GOTTDAMNT! using taller-than-OE tires effectively reduces the amount of power applied to the ground and that's BEFORE accounting for the parasitic losses...

    DOD / AFM delete parts

Firstly, the one best qualified to answer this question is @BlackBearPerf 2ndly, I doubt that'd be the case if your ecu & tcu are any version of OE - BlackBear should have OE configurations on file. If it's NOT OE, then I'd bet that you should find a way to provide that to BlackBear. Maybe send...

    Pedal commander who’s got one?

My guess is as follows: I do NOT think it is possible for the ecu to move the throttle more quickly than your foot, no matter what the tuner writes to the ecm. I think it is possible for a pedal pumper's most aggressive settings to move the throttle more quickly than your foot. Still would...

    Expedition Max to Yukon XL?

Maybe? Not like YOU gave them any money for it yourself; not like you're gonna become a customer of Chapman GMC, yea? In other words, more likely that they'd give that info to the previous owner who bought it from them. Time for a used motor oil analysis. I actually wonder why you can't just...

    Towing stability

Since your truck is in at least 'pretty good' condition, you'd likely be better off money-wise altering your truck - especially if your alterations have a proven track record. 4.10 was an OE option for GMT900s, so it's not like you're venturing into experimental territory. This'll help: 1. I'm...

    Budget rebuild items?

This statement primarily applies to the cam GM put in their engines in the first place. They spec'd a cam designed to last about 175,000 miles, satisfy NVH / MpG / emissions goals, cooperate with Engine Half@$$, etc, and leave themselves room to improve in a few years with the next version...

Precision, PLEASE. The block has Engine Half@$$ for sure. Were all the lifters the same, or were some of them Half@$$ lifters? (Obviously, don't want no Half@$$'n.) Just compare cams til you find one that makes as much (if not more) torque / power UNDER 3500RpM compared to the one you just took...

    Pedal commander who’s got one?

With a true custom tune, a pedal 'commander' / 'monster' becomes utterly redundant. Once upon a time, throttles were physically operated. Your foot was the pedal commander. You were the monster. Then electronic throttles happened. Now, no matter how quickly your foot moves, GM's ecm 'tune'...

It would do better with (a) 4.10 axle(s), which is relatively easy. Making your vehicle properly utilize a 6L80E is not impossible, just much easier said than done. Not a 4L60E - a 4L60. So yours was likely built in '89 for sale in '90. ANYWAY IFF you upgrade to 4.10, you may get away with using 4th on flat level ground. Anything under 4.10, yes, absolutely avoid 4th gear.
