So I can use my transfer case on the Denali drivetrain?

    6.0 or 5.3

Thanks for the reply. Mostly all I am finding online are just the engine swaps. I am looking to pull out the entire drivetrain from a Denali (6.0) and put it in my Tahoe. most of what I have found online shows that I will need to swap the computer. I mainly need to know if all of the...

Just out of curiosity, is the complete 6.0 drivetrain a direct swap (engine and tranny)? Any modifications needed or is everything identical aside from the computer?

    6.0 or 5.3

Yeah, I don't really dog my Tahoe now, and probably won't in the future. I am going to go with a 6.0. The towing that I do is minimal so I think that I will be fine there.

    6.0 or 5.3

That is good to hear. I figured since I never really tow anything that my current tranny would be fine. I guess I will go ahead and try to snatch up a 6.0 and start replacing seals and stuff. Thanks for y'alls help!

How would it do with the stock tranny that I have for daily driving? Only time I tow would be a small trailer or a boat. Not too often. I already only get 11MPG anyways.

I'd like to think that I am not too hard of a driver lol. But if it is going to come down to that, I might as well get a tranny to go with it. I would rather not have to baby it all the time.

Yeah, I was not sure about the transmission. The previous owner claims it was rebuilt not too long ago, but you never really know. I plan on getting a Black Bear tune when I do the swap. I wonder if the tuner would help with the transmission, or if it just can't handle the extra power...

Good Morning All, My 01 Tahoe 4x4 is getting up there in miles (216k) and I am thinking about going ahead and starting to get another engine lined up. I know these trucks will go much further than that, but I would rather have an engine on hand ready to go when mine does crap out. So I have a...

    Sluggish Tahoe

I do consume some oil. I am not sure how much because I do have a leak. I may have to add a quart every 5k miles. Plugs and wires are about a year old. I will do a compression test soon and go ahead and replace the plugs while they are out. I run B12 about once a month. Also, I am holding out...

Black Bear Performance Tune Event Seattle, WA; March 12-14, 2017

When will Black Bear be coming to the Savannah, Ga area?

    Black bear Tune

That is probably just as good as the in person, huh?
  15. David Smith

    Black bear Tune

That is what I want ideally, but they aren't coming anywhere near Savannah, GA for a while.

    Black bear Tune

Which tune did you get? In person, PCM swap, or scan cable?

    Adjust Rear Brakes

Is there a way to adjust the rear brakes so they help stop the Tahoe a little more. I know that the front has to be higher than the back as far as ratio goes, but I do not feel like my rears are doing much. Is there a valve or something that can manually be adjusted somewhere? 2001 Tahoe 5.3 4x4

    Replace OnStar Buttons

Yeah, mine aren't connected either. I will probably pick up these up soon.

    Replace OnStar Buttons

Yeah, you are probably right about the cubby. I literally never even charge my phone in my 'Hoe anyways. Maybe I will make it a fancy PEZ dispenser! lol

    Replace OnStar Buttons

It would be nice if someone made a plate that had like 2 or 3 USB port on it for charging.

    Replace OnStar Buttons

Thanks. I may just replace it with that then. Better than some buttons that I don't use.

    Replace OnStar Buttons

Hey Guys, I have an 01 Tahoe with the OnStar and I was curious if there are any options out there to remove the buttons and replace with something else. I do not really have anything in mind, just something functional. Also considered finding something to replace the rear audio controls with...

    Service engine soon

If/when you replace the speed sensor, be sure to clean the hud really good where it mates up. I changed mine and it did not sit flush due to a minimal amount of surface rust and when you would go to stop, the brake pedal would push bad like the abs was engaging. Scary stuff.

    Sluggish Tahoe

I doubt it. It must still have them. I am really not sure. If it is the gearing, I can live with that. Sounds like the culprit.

    Sluggish Tahoe

To be honest, I am not too sure that my truck still has its cats. I am down in GA. No emission tests. As for the tires, they were on it when I got the truck. The fuel filter APPEARS to be newer. Still a very shiny silver color.
