    High temps couldn't have been good for it as too much heat in the head would make it more susceptible to detonation (pre-ignition of the air/fuel mix in the combustion chamber, the reason for knock sensors). I would suggest making sure you're running good gas, cleaning up your air/fuel mix...

    Do it. Crawl under there and if the bumper bar isn't bent and your back up sensors work, you should be good. The lowest and most rearward piece of metal under mine is the hitch and then the bumper bar. The Hyundai that hit me got the hitch with his radiator tank... the hitch won obviously...

    I've bought two of their MAXX start or whatever model battery in the last year. at around $90 after core and 5-year free replacement, it was a no brainer.

    Looked like it to me at least. The deposits on the ground strap are suspect and that black electrode looks like flame going in the wrong direction.

    Pretty much. I was looking at a latching LED push button but yours looks pretty good. I take it you had to clearance the back of the cover for it?

    Gotcha. I don't have that button. I'll probably be going with a push button inside one of the 12v plug locations.

    Just had the same type of accident in June and my estimate was very much the same ($900-950). Replacement bumper from RockAuto.com was $160, painted by local shop was $375. Put in in myself after they painted. Looks 100% and pocketed the rest. Just something to think about.

    Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Not being a jerk but yes. At one point or another, I think there has been a complaint about all of these. Chief of which are motor mounts and cracks in the dash.

    Yeah, pointed at the dang firewall underneath all that A/C mess. I for real swapped 7 plug wires in 45 seconds and the last one took me 5-10 minutes.

    I still run old 5w30 with no AFM (BB Tune) and a catch can. Honestly can't say the last time the amount in the catch can was north of 4 oz.

    Step 1: Get a catch can to capture oil vapor Step 2: Tune out the AFM These two steps should really help or eliminate oil consumption.

    Have you checked to make sure the #1 plug is actually firing? Possibly something in the wiring harness.

    First time I cleaned the DBW throttle body on mine I made the mistake of disconnecting the wiring harness. I remember reading afterwards that this triggers the relearn. Mine would try to run away in neutral which was quite alarming. At road speed it was fine but I had to hold the brakes hard...

    Very likely it just leaked coolant by a hose connection. Glad you got it done. This repair seems to be a foregone step in GMT900 SUV ownership so welcome to the club.
