    Lowered 08 escalade progress

So you're probably at a 4/5" drop then right? Also no front camber bushings??

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Bought an SLP 31059... slip on resonator delete/tips. Also my Belltech 2/3" drop kit arrived... hoping to get it on one weekend before the new year!

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Can anyone help me figure out why the INSIDE of my truck smells like gas after I use remote start? It doesn't smell like gas from the outside - I know that problem and replaced the sending unit last year because it was rusted out. I don't notice it when I start it and drive, but its very...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Hey I really appreciate that, especially coming from you! Your truck has been an inspiration for me. Not too many of us "murdered out hoes" left on the forum.

    Pre-lowered 12 Tahoe. How much?

Wait, really? I thought that anything 3"+ needs the FT mod? I'm doing a 2/3" in the next couple weeks so this makes a big difference for me!

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

She got a wash & wax today. Waiting on my 2/3” drop kit from Tony to get it looking and riding right. Not sure how I feel about the yellow fogs. Put them on a couple weeks ago. Kinda ruins the sleek look.

Need new shocks... thinking of a 2/3 drop... advice?

Great advice, but everything else in there has already been done! All control arm bushings, ball joints, outer tie-rod ends, swaybar bushings, swaybar end-links.

Did my first UOA - high lead - bearing wear?

Did my first UOA this past changed, the truck has 176k miles now. Runs pretty well all things considered. The UOA is showing high wear, which they note could be bearing wear. That doesn't seem to be a common problem with the LS engines, correct? Anything else it could be? Thanks in advance.

Need new shocks... thinking of a 2/3 drop... advice?

I get what you're saying and agree with you 100%. I am a Michelin tire man - just put a new set on the Tahoe not long ago $$$$. But at the end of the day I pulled the trigger on the Belltech shocks/struts, they had good reviews so I am hopeful they will be quality products! Good info on the...

Need new shocks... thinking of a 2/3 drop... advice?

While that does sound like a good setup, it is definitely a lot more expensive than the Belltech setup AND I hesitate to use "factory replacement" shocks on a lowered vehicle as they often blow early due to the increased stress.

    LOL that’s not my style

Need new shocks... thinking of a 2/3 drop... advice?

Ok so I went ahead and ordered the Belltech kit (drop struts). While I'm in there, is there anything else I should replace on the front struts? Like the mount or bearing? Are those common wear items?

Need new shocks... thinking of a 2/3 drop... advice?

Thanks for the replies guys. I am leaning towards McGaughy's front and rear drop shocks (they have great reviews) and Belltechs springs for the rear (bc they're progressive). Are spindles easier on the front axles than just drop shocks? I am trying not to sacrifice any other part of the truck...

Need new shocks... thinking of a 2/3 drop... advice?

So at 175k miles my front shocks are toast. I’m thinking about running some drop shocks (McG? Belltech?) for a 2/3” drop... anyone else done this? Does it actually drop 2/3” and is the ride comfortable? Seems like everyone prefers to do the spindle drop but since my shocks need replacement this...

    New Battery

I just bought a DieHard Platinum AGM from AAP. It was around $210 with tax. I have nothing impressive to report on so far -- it works. The warranty is only 3-year, and weirdly enough the wet cell (non-AGM) DH Platinum battery that was cheaper was 4-year.

I believe those are all the ones I pulled, might have also pulled the BCM one.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I’ve definitely thought about it, I just don’t like how the roof slants down towards the back. I think the rails help distract from that.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Took off the cross-rails from the roof rack today. I don't use them, and I thought the truck may look better without them. Not really sure it made any difference.

    New wheels

Thanks! They are CK375 replicas in gloss black (mine are made by OE Wheels but a couple different companies make them). I think they look great in 22” but even better in 24”.

    Sales Strategy for Wheels

When you say “get them painted” - would that be at full price at a real wheel repair / paint shop? If yes, I don’t think you will see a good return on investment there. Honestly the style of wheel is a bit dated so only NBS and NNBS owners would bite, and those owners are getting fewer and...

    Sales Strategy for Wheels

Matte black just looks cheap IMO. I would probably leave them chrome as properly painting them gloss black will take a lot of work (thorough sanding and priming). But I do think they will probably sell easier in gloss black.

Best octane fuel for fuel eceonomy? (5.3L only)

No place on this earth would switching to 93-octane (a factory tune) make sense from a financial standpoint. In general it costs 40% more than regular 87-octane, and you would be lucky to get 10% improved MPG. I was getting about 5%. But that was not the point. I knew it was not...
