Blobs' 2014 Tahoe SSV Build & History

Not too much to update as of late. Got all my fluids for the front and rear diffs, t-case, and the trans finally. So just need to find some time to change it all. Replaced the front rotors and pads yesterday. Installed some leveling blocks while I was in there, but I couldn't for the life of me...

    Fog Light Troubleshooting

Thats what I was going to suggest next ha! I'd bet a working factory switch would solve the issue, but glad you got it either way.

    Ppv leftovers... From police buildout?

Horn info is here. Read through it. It shows you where the harness is for it.

    Fog Light Troubleshooting

It sounds like everything is operating as it should except the switch. Can you elaborate on the aftermarket switch situation? Was the factory switch inop? I'm not 100%, but I think the factory switch triggers a computer, which then triggers the relay. I think we can narrow it down to switch to...

    Fog Light Troubleshooting

Does seem odd. How did you wire the LEDs to the fog light circuit? With the lights disconnected and switch on, do you have power at the end of the wire? Does the dash light come on when you activate the switch? How are the lights grounded? Have you bench tested the lights?

Need help with Tahoe shutting off?

Might be a shot in the dark, but check the fuse for ECMB, and make sure its getting consistent power. I had a similar issue with this.

Blobs' 2014 Tahoe SSV Build & History

You know, I'm pretty sure they don't have a raised section like you described, thats something I didn't consider. But the brake rotor is flat behind the wheel isn't it? I wonder if they make anything for that like they do hub centric rings. I've never ran spacers with steelies admittedly, but...

Blobs' 2014 Tahoe SSV Build & History

Well I was hoping the vibration I suddenly felt in the wheel on the highway was due to losing a wheel weight. Unfortunately, it was not. I've used wheel spacers for years and I've never had this happen. Guess I'll have to add new wheels to the list.

    Need advice/opinions please help!!!!

I'd remove the valve covers and inspect the valvetrain. Loose or bent pushrods, rocker arms, valve springs, ect. Could also rent an inspection camera and check out the tops of the pistons for contact.

Blobs' 2014 Tahoe SSV Build & History

Far from a wizard but I finagle ;) Thanks! A lot of luck man. I've been searching since I got the truck and ended up finding it on Flickr. Someone who is into emergency vehicles just snapped it with their phone and uploaded there. Eventually I typed the right keywords into Google and it showed...

    Intermittent high beams

Here is the upfitter guide for the 2020 PPVs: https://www.gmupfitter.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/2020-Tahoe-PPV-4WD-7.pdf On page 31 it shows the location of the headlight flasher under the hood, as well as wiring info. Maybe a bad aftermarket module or bad connection/ground? I would check...

Blobs' 2014 Tahoe SSV Build & History

Did a bit of bench wiring today. I've, slowly but surely, been pieceing the wiring back together since replacing the Havis console with the civvy one. As well as getting a plan laid out for the updated wiring, lighting, and switch panel setup. I'll be using a lot of stuff I have laying around...

Running wire through firewall 2020 Tahoe

For poking through firewall grommets a wire hanger works good a lot of the time, as well as the fiberglass rod snake things. Tape the wire to the other end and pull it through. You can use a little dielectric grease to help it slide as well. Just make sure to be VERY careful if you're going...

    Ppv leftovers... From police buildout?

^ This Also not sure what the AMP MASTER box does. Maybe it's the siren? What wires are going to it? Can you open the box?

Stripped wheel stud; lug nut stuck on

^ That is... crazy. OP, which wheels do you have? Pics? If you have access to cut it off with an angle grinder or sawzall, do that. Otherwise, send progressively bigger drill bits through the stud until it releases.

Ya know, mine are too. Let us know what you find, I'm curious. I found this Bug deflector thingy ma bob for $25 bucks shipped to my door. AVS brand, still had original plastic on it. Had a crack in the middle and I guess it was a return. You cant even tell with it installed at all. Score!

Blobs' 2014 Tahoe SSV Build & History

Finally got around to installing the DIC switch and was able to see my engine hours and other info for the first time. Engine hours were around 7500 @ 150k miles which I'm pretty happy about. I was also able to monitor my transmission temps and get a baseline. Got up to 192° on my drive home...
