    Oil usage question...

Yes, normally I would wait for it to settle before checking it, but given the low oil warning I wanted to see where it was. Turns out 1 quart brought it back to full, so apparently the low level sensor is set to about -1 quart. I guess I jumped the gun a little worrying about it before...

    Oil usage question...

I usually do my oil changes myself, although I have let the Cadillac dealer that I bought it from do a couple of them. I have not generally checked the level between changes, and haven't recently, but when I did it was fine. I'm not sure if it's something sudden yet, although I haven't noticed...

    Oil usage question...

I was just pulling in the drive at home this evening and the DIC on the Escalade flashed a low oil level warning. Parked in the garage and checked the dipstick and it wasn't even registering. Oil life is at 38% with about 4,000 miles since the last oil change. I was planning to change it soon...

    Anyone know why this happens?

Overhead console is 194, dome lights are 578.

    Anyone know why this happens?

This has to do with how GM designed the "Inadvertent Power" circuit in these trucks. This circuit in the BCM puts out a low-current level on the 12V supply for the interior lights and when it detects the voltage drop from a light being turned on, the BCM turns on full power. It then turns it...

    Anyone know why this happens?

It is possible, but can get a bit complicated. I have done it in my Tahoe. I added resistors wired in with the bulbs to produce the same current draw as the incandescent bulb. However, the resistors get extremely hot if the light is on for more than a minute or two. When I first installed...

    Anyone know why this happens?

That sounds like the incandescent bulbs that originally were in those lights were replaced with LED bulbs. That is typical behavior in these trucks if you replace the overhead bulbs with LEDs.

Has anyone installed these Morimoto headlights...

My mistake. I meant to post in the 2015-2020 forum.

2004 GMC Yukon Denali XL power driver seat problems..

The comments saying it needs reprogrammed are correct. This is a known issue with the NBS seats. It requires reprogramming with a Tech2. I believe what happens is that as things wear, the position sensor on the seat goes out of range and the controller get confused about the seat position...

bought a new 2022 Yukon SLT and the interior lights are weird. is it me? or broken?

On my 2021 Escalade it works just as you thought that it should, when the orange indicator light is on the interior lights do not come on. It sounds like a software bug on the 2022's to me.

Back up camera...'05 Yukon... a safe location?

That's where I mounted mine. Well protected and I can see fine with it there.

    Windshield Chipping 2021 Yukon

Agreed, I'm on my 4th windshield in my '21 Escalade. Granted, the first one was going to take out any windshield. A big truck threw up a BIG rock as I met him on the highway, it hit so hard that the inner layer of glass shattered too and left glass shards all over the top of the dash. It...

    Tablet/ipad

Well, unfortunately I didn't take pictures when I did this several years ago, but I did describe how I did it in this thread: https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/center-console-shifter.89232/ Mine starts with post #6.

    Tablet/ipad

It is from a Trailblazer. I fabricated a bracket to hold it in the Tahoe console and rerouted the shift cable from the steering column, the cable connects directly to the Trailblazer shifter. I did have to modify the subwoofer box a little to make space for the shifter. I also replaced the...

    Tablet/ipad

Here is how I installed an 8 inch Galaxy tablet in my 2005 Tahoe. Besides the usual things that you can do with the tablet, I have also set it up to display a reverse camera, and connected it to OBD2 diagnostics and monitoring. Music from it is fed into the factory stereo through the RSE aux in.

    Wiring Connectors

The link that I posted may not have been where I originally got my copy. I've had it a long time. Probably why the file size is different.

I have found this Delphi connector catalog to be invaluable for matching GM connectors and terminals. http://www-personal.umich.edu/~maizer/Download/Delphiconnectioncat.pdf I keep a copy on my hard drive for quick reference. Once you find the part number in the catalog, I have generally been...

Locked out of my car, please help!

Not sure if it's true for all years of NBS, but on my '05 pulling on the inside door handle while it's locked does nothing. Have to unlock first. You might try removing the battery from the remote and putting it back in to see if that resets what you did, but most likely a locksmith is your...

low/no oil from Jiffy Lube and what next?

No way is that engine going to run 600 miles with no oil. But even so, there is a low oil level sensor that would cause a warning as well as low oil pressure. There should have been warnings on the DIC about both pressure and level. On a brand new engine the oil would still be quite clean and...

HUGE problem with brakes! Please help!

The first thing that I would look at is the pads on all four wheels, both inboard and outboard. If a caliper is hanging or a piston is stuck it will wear the pad out prematurely and cause a grinding/scraping noise. While checking that also look for any leakage on the calipers, you appear to be...

    Puddle Light Replacements?

I had to have the one on my Escalade replaced at about 9 months old for the same reason. The logo had completely disappeared and was just a white circle. It was covered under warranty. I have not seen any aftermarket for these, but haven't looked very hard. I believe that the problem is a...
