My From Start to Finish 6.0L Build

Two reasonons: 1. I read somewhere that you should. 2. When pulling that hose on the passenger side when I was dismantling the old engine and removing the intake manifold - there was a little oil in that tube. So as a precaution, this is what I'm going to do. I will see if that was a wise...

Hit 700 miles on the new engine. Absolutely love this upgrade. Changed the oil yesterday. All looking good. Pushed it a little harder today. Spun the wheels taking off and again when hitting second gear. Squawked the tires when hitting third. This thing moves.

My From Start to Finish 6.0L Build

That is what both of my build book also states. Like I said, I’m going conservative. When I started this venture and working with Texas Speed about my rotating assembly I purchased from them, his recommendation was to go the conservative route. After the money I put in this build, an extra oil...

My From Start to Finish 6.0L Build

They are Evil Energy AN6 Hoses, fittings and hose clamps. I will say the AN6 hose was a tight fit but I made it work - just took a bit of elbow grease and some extra force. I ordered some AN8 hose and fittings for the catch can on the passenger side catch can. I will post on this build thread if...

My From Start to Finish 6.0L Build

I will be taking a conservative approach to my break in. You are correct no WOT during initial break in. I plan to change the oil in a few more miles. Then again at 500 miles from the initial oil change. Then again at 1500 miles. From there standard oil changes.

My From Start to Finish 6.0L Build

After driving the girl yesterday, I topped off the fluids (coolant and transmission (after warming it up a bit)) this morning. Put just over 50 miles on it today. Really love this new engine. Really smooth and pulls very strong. No codes at this point or leaks. Must have done something right. I...

My From Start to Finish 6.0L Build

Very productive and successful day today. After a very long time coming, she is in and started on the first crank. Boy, was I nervous. Had a sticking lifter on the driver's side. She settled out after a few minutes. No leaks or codes. Oil pressure sitting around 50 psi. After she warmed up, and...
