Trust me, leave it the way it is. The problems become inevitable once you go any lower. My truck looked cool to everyone else but it was a constant headache trying to make me not hate it. I didn’t realize how bad it really was until I bought a stock Escalade
mine has been unplugged for over 7 years. It just defaults the charging voltage to ~14v rather than dropping voltage into the 11’s while not under load
Don’t spread false info. No one has ever had a quality bolt fail when flipping their struts
Grade 9 and higher bolts are stronger than the aluminum control arms themselves so you’re telling me that no one should ever drive their truck because their control arms are brittle and weak?
Lift spacers have zero effect on ride quality. Ride tech struts are going to ride like dog doodoo with them overinflated to get the lift you want
The ride quality is 100% in the tires, not the suspension
A single 15 shouldn’t change anything at all, unless the lowering springs are absolutely junk. Even 2 big 15’s shouldn’t really change much
This is what happens when you have a 6 15 wall. Turns a 6” drop spring into a 10” drop lol
You might have to try one of the off brands on eBay. Someone said the good brands are a little stiffer so I’d try something cheap first and the bag should help stiffen it up
You don’t need to tub the rear unless you’re running a 10” wide wheel with a giant tire. chrome is a 28x10 +15 and it hit on the outside, not the inside. Also had 26’s with a 295/30/26 and it didn’t rub at all.
Despite what everyone who’s never done it has said, 5/7 drop is extremely simple aside from the c-notch part
Front there’s a ton of ways to achieve 5”
Belltech drop struts flipped to the bottom of the control arm with stock spring, DJM upper arms and drop spindles is what I did with zero...
@NickTransmissions my 2008 6l80e operates perfectly when the trans temp is under 150°. The second temps on the gauge go over 150, I lose reverse, and 3rd and 5th gear slips like the truck is in neutral. As soon as they drop back below 150°, everything returns back to shifting smooth and all...
Temps dropped about 30° overnight (12° this morning) and suddenly I have no heat front or rear. Any ideas on what would cause this? Coolant level is fine. It’s very confusing that both worked last night and now this morning neither front or back work
In my opinion, if you’re ordering something custom, I’d go like 35mm up front and like 30mm in the rear. That also depends on how small of a tire you can run
This is a x10 13mm offset with a 275/25/28 just for reference. The fronts would stick out way past the stock fender
This is with a 295/30/26. Front fenders are pulled. Rears have the fender lip cut off. Not sure how much you’re lowered but this is pretty much the extreme as far as static with big wheels goes. Wheels hit the firewall pretty hard and made it a nightmare to make even somewhat tight turns
On stock suspension, any x10 should be fine. 10.5 might be okay in the back with a smaller tire. If you’re lowered more than like 3/4, you’ll most likely get into rubbing issues up front
This is a 26x10 +31 with a 305/30/26
You are going to spend BIG money on something that rides only marginally better than those. How are you lowered up front? If you took out any rings, you could flip the strut to the bottom of the control arm and add rings back to get shock travel
Scored a 08 Escalade about a year ago. Rebuilt the engine and put the PPV brakes on it. Been dying to pick up something that gets better MPG but the wife doesn’t like driving in small cars so I’m just sticking this out for now
If I have another issue and messing with the fuses doesn’t fix it, I’m going to switch to LED’s and run all new wiring to a different switch. I’m back to working 60 hour weeks so I really don’t have time to keep pulling the bumper and messing with chasing down electrical issues
Wild conclusion. I never in a million years thought it would be a fuse with the way the lights were going on and off originally then worked fine for a while. Well I was bored and checked the fuses. Both look fine but I NEVER trust how a fuse looks. Decided to switch them to see if the problem...
08 Escalade. My driver side headlight was going in and out and finally stayed out. I changed the ballast with an oem one and drivers side headlight worked but pass now stopped working. Turned truck on and off a few times and both worked for about a week and now the drivers side is back out
