Well, I have a habit of not getting outbid on GovDeals. I just picked up my 5th vehicle this year. Rented a Uhaul toy hauler trailer. I do like the trailer, don’t like surge breaks, but that is because of my own fault.
So, you know the weight limit is 8600 lbs. is that when the car is loaded or...
It has been awhile, I have gotten a couple distractions….but now that it is starting to be humane temps around here.
My latest was a hitch. I was pressed for time so got a Curt hitch from uhaul. I will swap it for a bumper style to is in the opening. But this worked for the moment.
My decision on the shock/struts was based on who I work for and my company discount. That being said, these Fox Shocks are the bomb....but don't have anything to compare them to. My suspension was so shot......I went coil overs on front and did replace the spring in the back cause I also wanted...
I just redid most of my suspension, will do the upper control arms sooner then later. I went way overboard on mine, but I have a specific plan. That being said, I dropped mine an additional 1" front and back and then went to a 70r17 tire. I love the look of the tire tucked up a bit and filling...
I’ll get better photos. So, measuring from the top edge of the wheel well. I have not changed height, but I am now running a 31” tire instead of the PPV 29” tire. The tires are now moved 2” up into the well. I am loving the look.
On a side note, I will be doing both upper control arms and...
And the back side needed sooooo much love. One rear shock was seized, the other was blown so bad gravity was collapsing it.
Had to turn the rear drivers side piggy back to clear the tire.
Decided to mount the resi in front on the frame. I think it looks good just picking out.
Had to go back a couple times triming the dust shield. But the drop spindles went in after the shocks.
So I finally got everything in, so Friday it was time to tackle the suspension.
So here is the component list:
McGaughy’s 2” drop spindles for the front.
McGaughy’s 2” drop spring for the rear.
MOOG front swaybar Links
Hellwig front swaybar
Hellwig rear swaybar with their adjustable links
Fox...
Well, I know I went overboard. Thank goodness for a discount. Otherwise these would have cost as much as my Tahoe.
Guess I am installing shocks, swaybars and links this weekend.
So here is todays update, and it is BIG!!!!!!!
Go in and waiting for install:
Front and rear sway bar links
Front and rear sway bars
Front drop spindles
And the maintenance records for my Hoe……..and guess what! She got a new engine in 2020! I figure this engine has around 65k miles.
Well, I am keeping my fingers crossed. they had me refer to https://mcgaughys.com/help-information-guide/ and I have the Aluminum lower so they gave me the part number.
ordered Fox 2.5" coil overs for the front and 2.5 struts for the back. both are adjustable. I am interested in seeing what the spring rate is on the fox and seeing what it is for the PPV. Then I'll decide where to go on springs.
ordering drop spindles for the front. new sway bars front and...
