Second row captain fold but won’t come back up.

Test drove a Tahoe, read new reports of trouble daily and also compared multiple owner ratings from several car rating services and compared to last years model. I don't think your experience with one sample and a few reads of happy owners who may be justifying their purchase makes your opinion...

Second row captain fold but won’t come back up.

Sounds like he is only having a problem with one side indicating a malfunction. Way too many niggling problems with these new models, IMO.

You should buy the Yukon it is sufficient for you.

Creaking above passenger side second row bucket

Not very inspiring when GM uses the cheapest plastic clip in a high profit vehicle. They more than likely put the same clip in a $110,000 Escalade. Come on Lexus let's see what you got.

    Concerns with new generation Yukon

It appears we have a philosophical difference concerning test drives. When I test drive I go through a list of everything I've missed during previous test drives. I'm very critical and not there to love anything about it. I've dealt with service departments who can't replicate or put a dash...

    Concerns with new generation Yukon

Test drives are business it's not high school where we make eye contact and fall in love.

Go test drive one and see what you think of the quality. I did and I'm waiting.

    High cost of livin' high

Got back to town after a 1300 mile trip. On the return I kept thinking of super cruise so I pulled into the Cadillac dealer in Indy and took a test drive, seats are okay the cabin is great. But for me the whole point is a moot one, orders are six months out and would likely transfer into 2022...

    High cost of livin' high

I hear the seats may not be as comfortable as some like. Might be a reason to wait for the updated Navigator, one of the most comfortable seats in the industry plus the hybrid will provide more torque and horsepower with better gas mileage.

    High cost of livin' high

Interesting, I value obscurity but I do like the Escalade over it's siblings, a lot. Not sure if Super Cruise would be more or less stressful in traffic perhaps it would take time to trust it. On a less crowded interstate it would be a good thing. What do you do for hours if you're not...

    High cost of livin' high

I speced a premium luxury with super cruise for $97,365. Nice vehicle but it would draw too much attention.

Would one of those be the leaking fuel tank? Not to split hairs but for a vehicle to be considered reliable safety is paramount.

Your link is for the Yukon but I'll assume it is comparable to the Tahoe. In March 2013, similar length of production, I counted six. You don't really want to compare reliability with the 2012 as I see only one recall after all these years and it was for a binding ignition switch.

    2021 Tahoe Discussion

It was an LT with black interior that I drove in August. It had a squeak coming from the right second row area. While looking for it back on the lot we found a loose cargo area lamp that wobbled, something that should have never left the manufacturer. Other issues were design related to lesser...

    2021 Tahoe Discussion

My 2012 has had zero problems, no TSBs nothing, so maybe I'm spoiled. At this time the 2021 has four recalls and 296 TSBs but I never said it is a crappy vehicle I'm saying it doesn't have the overall reliability for me to consider it especially after the test drive revealed a few issues. GM is...

    2021 Tahoe Discussion

Perhaps I'm a discerning optimist with patience and I get a discount. I've looked at the competition; German, Japanese and Korean and they all have their negatives. So who knows, in a year or two gasoline prices may be a dollar more than now and the huge GMs with poor gas mileage will change...

Thanks for the suggestion but my 2012 is better than any new KIA. I'm just thankful there are buyers willing to do the final QC on their dime so that I may purchase a finished product. I've always wondered how manufacturers get away with shoddy production and now I know - lowered expectations.

    2021 Tahoe Discussion

I wouldn't assume the 2022's will be the end all be all. Wait till feedback improves which may be 2023 model year. Don't be a guinea pig for a $60 to $80 thousand vehicle that will depreciate 50% in five years. In my world that's a lot of dough even if you can afford it so wait till GM raises...

Best tires for a 2017 LT w/18" wheels?

I've been satisfied with the OEM Bridgestone Duelers so that is what I bought when it was time to replace the originals. Plus they can be found at very nice prices they look good ride smooth and quiet. The original pair had plenty of tread left but the tires were 8 years old and a bit hard...

Yukon Denali 2021 Haunted Nightmare - Request advice

I've always been a GM guy and have been waiting for this redesign going on several years now. The stories of unreliability and GM's tactics have made me hesitant. I've looked at various brands from Ford, Audi including Mercedes and they all have new tech issues. The one brand I'm hopeful for is...

Yukon Denali 2021 Haunted Nightmare - Request advice

I'm terribly sorry to hear about these problems and hope it works out with minimal pain. I'm waiting for at least the 2023 model year to see if they become reliable right now my 2012 has been 100% and I can't justify taking a chance on these new vehicles full of tech. I had a Chevy truck that...

    Speculation on 2022 Tahoe’s. Suburbans

I would like a High Country that doesn't say High Country anywhere and with the black trim of the RST. Oh, and without the Ipad I have plenty of opportunities to look at computer monitors.

GM lying about fuel rating, or i drive it too hard?

Speed, temperature, terrain, tire pressure and brand of gas all affect my gas mileage. I'm starting to see these around town and by golly they're huge so I'm not surprised we're seeing less good gas mileage. Why did GM make them so darned big? The last model was more my preference how about...
