    SC vs Full Engine Build

To each his own but this is a very large SUV. Your going to need massive power to be “fast” and then your tranny, rear, suspension will break. It’s the wrong platform IMO. lots of cash to burn to be beat by a stock TRX or Durango hellcat.

Torque converter data, trans experts inside!

Checking a few out this weekend. This is my favorite just by features: I thought you would like this Used 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe RST w/ Luxury Package for $60899 on Autotrader http://atcm.co/S2PVDP/2CA9E848. I like this one because it has the max trailer package. Hard to find many with that.

2025 or 2026 Tahoe Premier, any deals?

Looking at purchasing. Don't really see any incentives on the chevy website. Also, how much are you guys getting off MSRP on average?

Torque converter data, trans experts inside!

Well truck is worth 11k, repair could be around 6k. Also has 170k miles and the rear quarters are starting to rust on the wheel arches. Talked to the wife I think we are leaning toward a new one at this point. Looking online at a 2023 Tahoe RST with 20k miles, I need to look into these new...

Torque converter data, trans experts inside!

I just got off the phone with the trans shop they said it sounds like the TC. With my mileage(170k) on a 2015 they want to replace the whole tranny. $5500. They said something about at that age the pumps are shot as well and it's the best bet to get a whole new one(complete trans). I'll have...

Torque converter data, trans experts inside!

So my truck is vibrating, checked a ton of stuff including misfire data and they all look OK. Nothing significant on that end. See thread: https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/vibrations-stumped-for-now.156877/ I logged some torque converter data and wondering if this is normal. I logged...

    Vibrations. Stumped for now.

I logged today several times with my scanner that does live data and history of misfires. There is no significant misfires I am getting at all. Maybe a total count of 4. I am going to start another thread on the torque converter; I logged some data on that and want to see what I'm looking at...

    Vibrations. Stumped for now.

I’m leaving that way as well. I was messing around shifting manually and it seems like if I’m above 2k rpms the vibes really aren’t there. Only under low rpm and when I apply throttle. If drive the truck in tow mode where it keeps the rpm’s up it drives better. I’ll take it to a tranny shop...

    Vibrations. Stumped for now.

See #6 in the original post. 5,7 and 8 have very few misfires. I may replace the plugs and wires though to eliminat those as problems. Not sure how I can test the torque converter but I’ll read up on it. Watched a video on it, could be the problem? I want to eliminate most other things...

    Vibrations. Stumped for now.

2015 Tahoe LTZ. Has vibrations when driving and almost feels to me like a misfire. Started about a month ago and is getting progressively more severe. Vibrations are not in the steering wheel feels like engine or drivetrain to me. So whatever is breaking is breaking more lol. The vibes...

    6.2 Engine Replacement

Normal for a ****** engine with shotty tolerances burning oil. Yeah, normal enough to last to the warranty is over, than it’s your problem!

    6.2 Engine Replacement

1qt every 2000 miles is normal?! Wow. My oldest vehicle is a 2006 f150 with 220k miles and it burns NOTHING between oil changes every 5k. What a bandaid if they are telling people that’s normal. Just let these engines limp through until the warranty is over is their plan for sure.

Need help with intermittent electronic failure - diagnostics included

Your canbus is being corrupted by a bad module that is probably acting up when there is moisture intrusion. I’d start with the side detection modules as they are located in the rear bumper and get coated with road grime/salt/water. Unplug both and see if that solves the problem. On these...

2015 suburban weird issues in the rain

I replaced both and yes they need to be reprogrammed to your VIN, I had the dealer do the programming.

2015 suburban weird issues in the rain

unplug first. Then it went away (electrical problems). After that I replaced them and it’s all good.

When replacing magneride strut, do you need to replace full assembly or just the cylinder?

Rockauto. Not sure the part but it was the OEM ac delco, their website will show it under OEM replacement.

When replacing magneride strut, do you need to replace full assembly or just the cylinder?

OEM will be the best. I’ve done all 4 by myself in my garage. Just get a good spring compressor and you’ll be fine.

2015 suburban weird issues in the rain

Most likely it’s the blind spot sensors in the rear; I had the same issue. Unplug them to verify. Eventually they let in moisture and corrupt the CAN bus.

Not the Tahoe but I ran my stock 2022 hellcat at a 1.5 mile event. This thing ripped and went 193.72mph.

Brake lights somehow tied into Cruise Control? - SOLVED

It’s actually this way on my 2006 f150. A faulty 3rd brake light will disable cruise control even back then. Also it’s very important when upgrading to LED that you use canbus compliant bulbs so it has the same resistance as incandescent or else you’ll have all these problems as well.

How to Make it to 500k Miles?

Me personally, no. I don’t have the time nor the mechanical experience to do that. Definately not worth paying a shop for. When my truck rusts out beyond repair I already have my next one, my wife’s 2015 Tahoe LTZ. I’ll take that and she’ll probably buy a 3 year old car she wants.
