For anyone interested, I did a little intro video and will be doing several more soon to cover the detailing aspect of my auction PPV. And if youre SUPER BORED, you can even check out some of my P71 stuff. LOL.
Anything I need to know about the fluid for the 2012 6 Speed? Brand and spec wise?
I know the P71 Crown Vic had some really specific fluid changes and shops needed to be aware.
I really appreciate all the knowledge you all provide. As a result, I am learning a lot about the Tahoe PPV. Really glad I was lucky enough to get one. Thanks for all the info you guys!!!
Thanks Crashtestdummy lol! The vehicle sat in a parking deck for about a year. It’s just really dusty. I am definitely considering the Blackbear option. Is the consensus that it helps with engine/transmission longevity? I really don’t want to eff either up. I think my PPV is a bit of a creampuff...
Got the tires installed today and it rides 1000X better. Thanks for the detailed info on tires and all!!!
What are the best options for tuning? Any reason to go for an exhaust upgrade? I found some that looked pretty good on Americantrucks.com.
A couple of things I’ve noticed:
One, the horn doesn’t work. Is that an easy fix usually?
Two the interior lights don’t come on when I enter the vehicle. They actually flash sometimes. Anybody know what that’s about?
Getting tires mounted in a few days and will report back on things.
Thanks!
I Love the look of the stock PPV wheel and don’t really have budget for wheels at the moment. That being said, I am really torn between an AT or HT tire. The Bridgestone Dueler is under $200 a tire at Walmart. Had me thinking that might be a decent choice. So many choices. Do you have an opinion...
Apparently I have a lot to consider. I’m out of the country at the moment. I’ll be looking into your suggestions. When it came to my P71s I kept them 100% stock but they rode and handled well for my needs. Just got the Tahoe and know VERY little about the PPV. Thanks for sharing your knowledge...
Marky, I’m a pretty big fan of keeping stock sized tires on all my cars. Would it be a compelling enough reason to move up to a 70 series vs the current 60 series tires? Isn’t 265 60 R16 what comes on these stock? Won’t that also throw the speedo off? I’m not sure I want to mess with it, but I...
Thanks Joseph. I knew a Joseph Garcia back in the day! He was a cool guy. I’ll try and post up some pics. If things go to plan, I’ll be doing a lot of detailing DIYs and basically chronicle the things I’m doing to make this truck nice.
These are flat spotted and I think they are the softer compound according to the contact person. He was saying they sometimes go back to normal but sometimes the flat spots will not go away. I’m pretty OCD about tires so for 8 year old tires I’m probably going to replace them no matter what...
Funny you mentioned oil diagnosis as I am doing that on my other car. As for the shocks and tires, I’m probably at least doing tires if this ride fires up without crazy lifter noise. If it has bad ticks or knocks I’ll likely be walking away because I’m not trying to fix bad lifters. Thanks for...
Hello all,
I am looking to go pick up a 2012 Tahoe PPV with 91k miles that has not run in months. It has a dead battery and they have already taken off the bracket for easy access. They also told me the tires have flat spots from sitting. I know nothing else about it really but it...
