2026 Tahoe with 6.2, im all good?

I have this at work on many different systems. It isn't called PICO but is the same thing. The huge difference is that it runs 24 hours per day, stores the data, and historizes it. I have alarm bands and shutdown bands set up that the system will trigger if readings get concerning. It is a...

Anyone waiting for the next gen V8s?

It looks like the DOD system was redesigned. The activation/deactivation point was moved from the lifter itself to a common rocker shaft system. From the description it looks somewhat similar in theory to how the 2.5 and 2.7 are doing DOD. (no known issues in this platform.)...

    2021 Yukon AT4 5.3 using oil

Verify the condition first. Top off oil. Take a picture of the dipstick. Drive the same number of miles (approximate). Evaluate. You may have had lower oil level to start with.

UOA and Filter photos of L87 time bomb.

The dirt/silicon readings are really standing out. With 20,000 miles that should be minimal and well below 20 ppm. The iron readings are also unexpectedly high given the typical way the engines fail. And I would agree that the oil analysis suggest incipient failure of some sort is occuring.

2025 Tahoe RST Misfire Cylinder 7 - Service ESC & Traction Control Lights (Intermittent Issue)

Bad spark plug ( porcelain cracked), ignition coil, or boot. Hopefully not anything with the intake or exhaust valve or head gasket, that happens with heat input.

Considering a 26 Tahoe or Yukon. Which engine is the most reliable?

I run the piss out of my 2024 5.3 in a Suburban. No issues in almost 25000 miles. I added a catch can and finally got around to putting in a DFM disabler because the L9 thing was annoying me in short trips around town. The 5.3 has been a tough little motor and very quiet as far as major or...

VERY likely oil shortages on the horizon: stock up now! (Availability & deal thread)

My local parts store in a tiny W Tx town must have a miraculous supply chain. The shelves are fully stocked if not overstocked. Even have some mail in rebates.

The fuel module replacement is quick and easy. One of the very few things that can be done on side of road.

    2021 Tahoe won’t start

Seems like the bcm is going into relearn mode like a battery was replaced or losing power. Check the battery cables for bad connection and test the battery.

    Died at 70mph on I-75

I’m afraid that is a design issue . They changed the main caps and crank girdle and how they register. The original Lexus design was different.

    2021 Tahoe won’t start

Edit: po615 is a starter relay circuit malfunction. So you are not getting any cranking. Check for power at the starter with a test light or volt meter. If no power then you need to check or replace the relay. I would also check the battery with load tester.

    Question on 6.2L Engine tests

It may not be exactly the same failure rate, but the improvements and internal process changes have not impacted the failures to the degree it should have. The 6.2 and 5.3 should have the same failure rate for the same failure modes. In fact I could even buy into the 5.3 having higher failures...

    Question on 6.2L Engine tests

Oil analysis is easy to do. It will show if metallic debris is increasing, decreasing, or holding steady. It is a good health check. It also shows the condition of the oil itself. Additive concentrations, viscosity, fuel dilution, oxidation level. It is wise to move to a more aggressive...

2026 Tahoe with 6.2, im all good?

The particular failure mode being described in the AI summary and associated source articles is confounding two things--piston ring wear and bearing wear. To get a normal wear pattern develop on bearings to the extent that oil flow is increased and being sent to cylinder walls, in such an...

    Accept Buy-Back or Not

I was all in on Sequoia until the latest generation came out. The armada is bigger and more spacious. The v6 has been way more reliable than the Toyota v6. It is a very comfortable ride. But when I actually went and sat in and drove a suburban, there was no comparison.
