Low battery / FOB-electronics not working - How to open tailgate manually for unload/jumper cable access?

After a drive / fully charged the battery shows 12.5v per my measurements. It gradually dropped from 12.5v to 11.4v over 6 days. Using an ANCEL BM300 - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WCW49YM - as the battery monitor / where the info above came from. Drove the rig for 2 x 30 miles yesterday...

Low battery / FOB-electronics not working - How to open tailgate manually for unload/jumper cable access?

Battery wise - I replaced it 2 yrs ago when I bought the rig. Fooled around with things quite a bit and I do have a float charger but it's been going 7 days lately. I have a battery monitor on it and showed a slow decline to 11.4v after 6 days (which is OK) but then on day 7 it dropped from...

Low battery / FOB-electronics not working - How to open tailgate manually for unload/jumper cable access?

I see it.... and appreciate the info! But in this case it was blocked with tons of camping gear, electric bike, etc. I guess I'm just shocked that there's no mechanical lever to open the hatch - on the outside like my SRX or the Yukon doors would be nice. Never occurred to me that this would...

Low battery / FOB-electronics not working - How to open tailgate manually for unload/jumper cable access?

Hey All I have a 2021 Yukon Denali w/6.2L. I went a little too long (week) and the battery went down so low (or in some kind of protect? mode) the FOB would not click/open the doors in the normal matter. Was able to open the front door, tried to start a couple of times but just a chug...

When is it not worth it to repair?

My 1st car was 66 Mustang. The floor boards eventually rusted thru (Indiana winter salt) with football+ size holes / see the road going by. Like any 19yr old, poor, idiot. I kept driving - no problem - till.. a piece of wood bounced up thru the hold and almost neutered me at highway speeds...

When is it not worth it to repair?

Here's a couple of pics I had handy - you might go, yes, I've seen this One of the fun things about this is car is the 'clutch less shifter' - fun to re-live the late 70s when all we did all day was red-line up 1st -> 2nd (and try to peel the tires) -> 3rd... almost every block! This SRX...

When is it not worth it to repair?

For example, I have a 'bought new' 2004 Cadillac SRX V8 AWD w/174K and it's running perfectly and interior is in good shape etc. However, it does cost 'real' money every year to keep it up. My 2021 Yukon Denali is the replacement but I tell myself it's nice to have the SRX as a backup... but...

BREAKING: GM is officially recalling the L87

I'm 2021 Yukon 6.2L with 67K miles. Had recall/oil-change (0-w40) about 2K miles ago. Here's a pic - the oil looks OK to me. I'm not an expert but I have seen 'dark' oil in earlier years (other vehicles) and this color doesn't seem alarming - seems OK.

    Key Fob Battery

I bought a couple of ebay Fobs for my 2021 Yukon Denali - https://www.ebay.com.hk/itm/265964057538 - and I was able to get them officially programed at my GMC Dealership as driver #3 and #4 and they work. However.... I get 'replace battery' message on the DIC after just a few days or weeks -...

    Electrical components life span?

I also wonder about the life of the more 'computer like' components - modules and screens. My 2004 SRX (21yrs) is all working except heated drivers side seat and of course the DVD player part of the audio. Not bad I guess for 21yrs. Next is our 2011 CTS (14yrs) with a bit more electronics...

BREAKING: GM is officially recalling the L87

I'm in the mindset that 95-97% with 'good engines' is the glass 95% full rather than 5% empty. My 2021 (passed a few months ago) is nearing 70K miles now and running well - love the rig and I'm not loosing any sleep over this! But I have been curious if you-all think of this engine defect as...

BREAKING: GM is officially recalling the L87

My 2021 Yukon Denali with 6.2L passed a few months ago, and is on 0w-40 now. I'm averaging 19.5mpg with city to city 30mile trips. It's 5miles of city stop and go + 25miles of interstate (70mph) per each trip. Could probably get 20mpg on 100%, 70mph, interstate.

Front Tow Hooks for 2025 Denali

As an alternative, I was able to get a front hitch installed on my 2021 Yukon Denali 6.2L. With a tow point, this can be used to up to 5000 LBS GTW for the model of hitch receiver I installed. Here's my thread on this -...

    Transmission temp?

We tow a 5400lb trailer with 2021 Yukon Denali 6.2L/10s - does not have the tow package, but we added a Curtis brake controller. Typically the trans runs 180s while towing up/down mountain highways but even at 107F ambient going up a 6%, 10mile mountain grade the highest we ever reached was...

RIP old friend (Hwy crash and totaled 07 Tahoe)

Glad you're OK and you have my sympathies! I'm one that tends to keep my vehicles 20+ yrs and it's really hard to see them 'die'.

    My new ride

I ordered these - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B091TKXBDL - for my 2021 Yukon Denali and they fit OK but can't attest as to longevity as I've not actually used them yet.

BREAKING: GM is officially recalling the L87

Yes - it's a 10yr warranty but like all warranties I've seen on a new rig, it's from when the rig was put in service, not from a pico test date where no engine parts were changed except the oil cap. If they put in a new engine, then the new engine would have it's own warranty? / different...

BREAKING: GM is officially recalling the L87

This is what they gave me after I passed mine... Not sure what the "0.90" means at the end of the "Recall #N252494000 9107931 0.90" line or what the "... all ok nwo" means on the next line. My guess - it's simply a pass/fail and doesn't have significant meaning other than all or nothing.

BREAKING: GM is officially recalling the L87

I took mine in at 10am and got it back by 3pm. The recall process overall was maybe 2hrs. The surprise for me was that if it *fails* they said they couldn't release my rig back till they replace the failed parts (a.k.a. engine) unless maybe I signed away some rights. So maybe ask what...

    Trans temp confusion

We have a 2021 Yukon w/6.2L + 10speed but does not have 'tow package'. Added a brake controller and tow a 5500 cargo trailer (square box) in mountainous areas. We did a test at 107F ambient / hot afternoon up a 10mile, 6% grade I-5 interstate near our home at 60mph and the trans maxed out at...

BREAKING: GM is officially recalling the L87

Totally relate! My brand-new 2004 Cadillac SRX with Northstar V8 had major engine work 2 times in the 1st 2 weeks of ownership! Oil leaks lead them to completely tear down/fix the front part of the engine. Then with continued oil leaks the rear end was found to have the gasket partially off...

BREAKING: GM is officially recalling the L87

Brought back memories.... In my (dumb) youth, with no experience, I rebuilt a 302 for my custom 67 Mustang w/4-speed on the porch of my single-wide trailer. While disassembling I wedged a pry bar into the crankshaft to hold it steady to get the front bolt off and put a noticeable...

BREAKING: GM is officially recalling the L87

My 2021 Yukon passed the test a few weeks ago. It has 63K and continues to run smoothly and we tow a 5500lb trailer the most recent 15K miles. For me - I'm thinking that 5% failure (GM say 3% so far) = 95% non-fail. 95% is not bad odds and I'm no longer giving this issue any more worry than...

Magnetic v. Air Ride - noticeable difference?

My 2021 Yukon Denali with middle package level (one down from Ultimate) has magna ride only (no air - so I don't have auto-level etc). And I'm with you - I believe that air ride is 'on top of' mangna ride.
