    GMT800 Coolant hose "Y" connector

    I worried about this for a long time. The best answer I got was the orange contains agents to prevent aluminum from corroding. Although they both work (as does water) I use the orange Dex coolant on everything now. Aside from the fact that the green is getting harder to find.

    LowCountryTim's 2011 Tahoe Build Thread

    I would highly recommend a new timing chain/oil pump. I bought my Yukon XL at 242k and it ran well. Had one issue with the oil pressure which the sending unit did not correct and a month later the timing chain let go. It was well maintained, but the timing chain didn't care. New motor.

    Thanks. No, I am looking for technical operational info on the 5.3 engine. I was hoping someone here was mechanically savvy, but it looks liike lift kits and add ons is the general interest here. I'll try to find a place with mechanics who understand the insides. Thanks again.
