    What to do with old gas?

    Start a bonfire with it..... Or, just blend it into waste oil as you go. Oil recyclers or oil burners don't care. It's all good to them.

    Dude......your time and sanity is worth more..... NEVER buy a reman in today's market. The $20 or 50 savings isn't worth the headache. Buy a new reputable aftermarket or OEM and call it a day. Its a 30 minute job.....why make it painful?

    longer oil filter

    Get a case of GM PF63 and call it a day. It's back to the OG filter size the LS engines originally came with 26 years ago. I've run that filter on my 2008 and 2017 forever, and a day so far, perfect fit and no issues. I also don't add the additional 0.25qt-ish that it holds over the OEM one...

    Just use 5w-30 full synthetic and call it a day. My 2017 specifies 0w-20 garbage. I haven't used it since I bought it and I do my own service. I did have some free oil changes and I just told the service writer I wanted 5w-30. No red flags or blaring sirens, they just put it in. Got 177k...

    I agree with @alvocado , I did the same thing 4 years ago on my 2008 yukon when the lines were starting to get wet at the crimp fittings. Its a super easy way to go. Just get the same rated hose and good worm clamps, or oetiker clamps.

    That is the factory welded flex pipe. Only way to fix it is to weld it again or replace.

    Just buy OEM filters. They are designed and tested for you powetrain. Anything else is a gimmick.....and they may do more harm than good on downstream electronics. Put the saved money into other add-ons that actually make a difference.

    Get a small hand, or 12v, pump. Drop the pan down and let it drain out the front. Use the pump to suck out the rest. Wipe the gasket area......gingerly so as to not get any dirt inside the pan. Mount it back up and refill with approximately 6 quarts. Personally I'd change the filter at 129k...
